Exorcist was more of a comedy to me, The Ring was over hyped bull same for The Blair Witch(lol, I think it was on Family Guy which they made fun of it by like commentaring on whats happening in the movie, "some kids run in the woods, there walking around looking for something, they die, the end", but more funnier").

True horror movie that was scary was the original The Grudge, although it didn't make since at all it was scary.

Check out John Carpenter's The Thing (1982). Like you said there hasn't been any real decent horror films in the past couple years. Thats why i go and try to check out some unknown or fairly obscure titles.

The Thing is not just another horror film, it also tackles the threat of the unknown and psychological abandonment. The ending is fantastic, where you just wonder who or what is going to happen.

Sounds good, Mebot!

Has anyone here seen Swamp Thing? Is that really horror or science-fiction?

I never seen The Ring. Is it really as scary as some people say it is?
