The Concert was great, de dvd captures moments that shows everyone how great it was.
I still love it and i'm would not have forgiven myself if i hadn't been there..
To bad they didn't put in the moment Tiesto played his remix of Delerium - Silence, everybody was singing along. Best 9 hours of 2003 imho. |

What do you mean who gives a about his mixing?
I dont know anyone who goes to see a DJ play some sweet tunes, but mix them terribly. Not saying tiesto does, just that your statement was abit silly imo.

Man...tijs mixing is hearable
its not so bad
when I saw him at the club he was ace
of course if you cant mix then it sucks but hes ok at that so its all good |

To be honest, I always disliked him. Especially after he screwed up at one of our schoolparties in 2000. But forgive and forget, cause many other dj's are pricks as well. No names... ;)
It's about the music, not the faces. The last couple of months (Innercity/Traffic) Tijs did a good job. So that's why he's 'ok'. |

Seriously I find it hillarious that just cos we think he's got about as much order in his tracks as a class of kindergarten kids have in their behaviour and that he rarely mixes as good as he can that we must be jealous :rolleyes: :stongue: |

That must be the most talented and gifted kindergarten classroom in the world then, if they can come up with track selection and ordering as elaborate and complex as in these examples:

Ferry and Armin combined cannot construct a set so musically thought-out as any of these in their dreams. Beatmatching aside, track placement and selection through timing and violent contrasting is what makes Tijs such a genius. |

I've watched most of the DVD, and yeah... I definitely expect more mixing-wise from Tiesto... the atmosphere takes a bit of time to get kicking, but by the time you get into the Latin America section that's when it really takes off... Love the performances and how Tiesto mixes a track into them - especially the Asia section and how Coast To Coast - Searching followed up with that. Definitely one of the most innovative performances in any musical genre.
I liked a lot of the guests, too... that Dinand guy, I've never heard of him (I assume he's a Dutch popstar or something?) was pretty crazy and put on a great show, even though I wasn't a fan of his heavy accented singing. Jan Johnston was great too.
The low point for me would be Andain's performance - I thought it was dubbed over because it was much too "perfect", and she looked extremely uncomfortable and awkward on the stage.
But I was almost in tears by the time Suburban Train came on, even though IMO he should have closed it instead of No Regular. |

dude, what do you about when the atmosphere kicks in, you're watching a 3 hour edit of an 8 hour party :stongue:.
All of the people that were there know that the atmosphere kicked off instantly with the Adagio, right after his self-warmup hour behind a curtain just to create this effect.
Andain was the low point and she HAD to be dubbed over because she was horrible live. |

No Problem mate!
I meant it was such an amazing event (25.000 ppl just there for one DJ) everyone was very euphorically(sp?) I bet if you were there at that party you wouldn´t even had the time to pay attention to his mixing. I mean it wasnt the best mixing but it wasnt bad either and that worked pretty well for that party! |

Actually Ferrys Concert, including remaking Galaxia for it was as well planned out as any of those, as was his energy 2000 set and other dj's who've pulled off equally as good sets in terms of planning & mixing include Tom Harding, just about every DJ Hype set, DJ Sy, Sasha, Westbam, PVD.
And beatmatching is a big thing, the best planned out set can be ruined by poor matching, and a set thats not as 'special' in its layout but mixed well can also be more enjoyable. Tijs is no better than any of the names I Mentioned above, and you can add the 'old' oakey, tony de vit, pete tong, carl cox, john digweed, nick warren etc into people who could plan, mix, match and be as 'constructive' In 20 years time Tiesto will just be a 2-3 year fad, where a lot of these DJs have done it for longer at the highest level & will still be there when Tijs fades :) ;) |

theyre probably in awe at his skills, i dont like his music it all (well i wouldnt go as far as saying i hate it or anything) but i respect he probably the most talented dj in the world... |
