Under the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution, I proclaim Mel's right to make a movie and people to view it. Using the same rules, I proclaim my right to say: FUCCK Mel Gibson Passionately!

Here's why:

DENVER, Colorado (AP) -- About 300 people of different faiths turned out to clean up a synagogue vandalized with swastikas and Nazi symbols on the eve of the Jewish holiday Purim.

So many people showed up Sunday at BMH-BJ Congregation, where vandalism had been discovered the day before, that people had to stand in line for a turn with a brush and a can of paint thinner.

"This is a place for everyone," said Doug Mix, who is not a member of the congregation. "That is why everyone is here. There are Christians, Jews, Muslims and people who are not religious. We all came out here because America is still America, and we don't tolerate this."

A custodian for the synagogue discovered about 10 markings when he arrived Saturday morning. Purim was celebrated Saturday night and Sunday. Police had not made any arrests by Monday.

Holocaust survivor Fanny Starr saw the graffiti Saturday morning.

"I was just shaking and broke down," she said. "All the wounds, the old wounds starting open again."

Rabbi Daniel Cohen said the vandalism may have been sparked by Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ," which just finished its second weekend as the No. 1 movie in the country. The movie, which some believe wrongly blames Jews for the death of Christ, has been criticized as anti-Semitic.

Elise Zakroff said she was sure the film inspired the graffiti.

"What Mel Gibson did is terrible," Zakroff said. "It is happening all over. We are tired of anti-Semitism. All we want is peace."

Shortly after the movie opened, a Denver pastor outraged Jews and Christians with a sign outside his Lovingway United Pentecostal Church that read "Jews Killed The Lord Jesus."

He said the sign was inspired by Gibson's film and later put a sign of apology.

anti-semitism was around long before mel gibson's movie and was around before movies and tv in general. In fact i'd say most would say that it was much worse in the mid 20th century

So is racism, so is any other form of opression of human beings in any other shape or form. When will it stop?

Unfortunately it is on the rise again, and movies like Passion don't help. Mel Gibson knew very well what he was getting into, and he knew very well that this movies would provoke acts of vandalism such as this, and he did nothing. Piece of !

I don't think you can blame Mel Gibson. Blame the idiots who don't have the good sense to realize it's a work of fiction.

I am angry and my opinion of the movie does not reflect my opinion of Christianity, Catholicism or any other religion. A normal human being should be able to distinguish good from bad. However, when you air movie like "Passion" to masses, you're bound to hit at least one target with whom this garbage would strike a note and provoke for evil.

If you take millions of people who will see this movie, some of whom are devout antisemites, who are not afraid to act - what you get is your proverbial "adding fuel to the fire".

I don't understand the value of this movie. What does it portray? How does it help a Christian/Catholic/whoever be closer to the Bible? The main message in the movie is not "Christ died for your sins" it is "Jews killed Jesus".

Now, take just one case, just 1 - if someone decides to take a life of another human being after seeing this movie, because he/she feels the movie provoked these emotions - wouldn't it be a worthwhile reason to protest and scream out in anger - to make people aware? So, before you tell me to shuddup and call me names and flame me - think about that... Think - is even one life worth it?

I don't buy the b-s about "Oh, I wanted to do something for the people" - he's sowing the seed of hate and makes money on it at the same time. He stands to make something obscene - in realm of $300 Mil or more for the movie, while pushing his antisemite agenda. While promoting his movie, I didn't hear Mel promissing to donate any of the money to world's hungry (non-jewish) children or poor. If he wanted to do it for his faith, he should have said: "I'm not making a dime on this movie - it will all go to charity".. and even then, his intentions would be dubious, at best.

Well, all I know is if someone does end up getting hurt as a result of seeing this movie, you'll probably see some lawsuits being filed against Mel. It would be sad, sad, sad day but I hope they sue him and get him for all he's got. Though, loss of human life would be a terrible tragedy - even his. If something should happen - let it be on his conscience - that he added fuel to the fire.

User your own brain, end of story.

it'll stop when everyone on the planet mates with people with different races and religions so the world is a mix and no one can be racist and anti-semitist of others. So when will this happen? In other words...not in our lifetimes.

No, no, it makes perfect sense. The contradictions of christian behaviour match the contradictions of the bible.

A group or a couple of people dont account for an entire religion / race.

When a certain race or group commits a horrible crime, does that account for everyone of this race or ethnic background? No.

Let's blame Marylin Manson and Eminem and Britney Spears while we're at it.

Everything that never reached the papers before will now because they will tie everything to the movie. This happens all the time and you never hear about it because there's nothing else to blame it on. Now that there's a movie we can blame it on, everyone wants to string up Mel Gibson.

Why not blame the people doing the vandalism, not Mel Gibson?
