| MindShifter, i was not saying people should be upset for Worrel and May fighting twice but as to not think bad of Bertuzzi for trying to pick a fight with Moore who had already fought. Fights were being picked left, right and center in that game and it was out of hand. But you made some good points and I agree Moore is not an enforcer and Bertuzzi was probably frustrated at the way the game was going. |

FYI: Steve Moore is now walking and all of the scans have shown that there are no severe lasting injuries. Doctors are saying that he will make a full and speedy recovery. It was also never a "broken neck", it was a minor fracture, but we all know how the media jumps on this .
Anyways, I'm sick of debating this with people. The decision is in less than 10 hours and there's really no point discussing it further. |

Thats a very good question actually, i don't know the answer but love to hear others opinion on it. I mean in tons of sports theres hitting, soccer, football & rugby but theres never fights.. well that i know of, wonder what makes hockey special. |

I was never fan of that goon. Everyone says "oh he did the right thing by doing the press conference and the crying bit". Blah anyone in his position would do the same. I hope he gets what he deserves.
Didn't he speak out how how he was disgusted about the McSorley stick atack on Brashear a few yrs back?
yes the media jumped the gun, but they alwasy do. But the bottom line his , Bert is a coward, If he wanted to fight, he should just have just dropped the gloves. I dont believe any word of his apology, the damage has been done, its too late. Anyone would have done the same if their 7million/yr career was on the line. It is sad because he is a good player no doubt about it, just really stupid. |

| Well its official Bertuzzi is done for the rest of the season and the playoffs. Gary Bettman is going to review things before the start of training camp for next season to see if Bertuzzi should be suspended for some of next season as well. The league also fined the Canucks $250,000. . . |

IMHO the "suspension rule" is very very subjective. Some people get 12 games, some 20.. who decides? Which is fair?
I think Bertuzzi should be suspended until Moore returns to rink. |

| what bert did was cowardly and stupid but i do believe that the media is blowing it way out of proportion just because bert is a star... if it was some rookie who injured moore, i'm sure it would not receive half the attention bert got. |

Apparently the media decides how long the suspension is. This ruling is brutally inconsistent with every other ruling they've ever made. Hopefully the canucks will appeal it, but I doubt that will help matters either. Burke has a press conference at 10am pst so I guess we'll find out then.
Oh well, sure hope that Rucinsky and Sanderson fit in well with the nuckies otherwise we're done in the playoffs. |

I'm just happy that he has to meet with Bettman at the beginning of next season. Hopefully, he'll do the right thing and give him more games. Consistency with suspensions don't apply to this incident. This is unprecedented. Bertuzzi jumped someone like nobody ever has. McSorley didn't continue to wack Brashear with his stick after he knocked him out. Johnson who punched out Beukeboom from behind didn't jump on his back to continue beating him senseless. Domi didn't skate back around and take another charge at Niedermayer after he elbowed his head into the second row. Bertuzzi knocked out Moore, drove his face into the ice and tried to continue beating on him. That is the worst act ever. He deserves more than what he got so far. Good for Bettman for setting up that meeting for next year.
And who the hell is Bertuzzi kidding with that press conference?? Did he think doing that before the ruling was handed down would ease up the suspension?? I hope Moore gets a say in how long he's gone for. Get well soon, Steve Moore. Go to hell, Todd Bertuzzi.
Cheers,
