lol sean...how in the hell are 2 fractured vertebrae better than a broken neck?
do you even know what a 'fracture' is? apparently not, as a fracture is a break in the bone: thusly a broken neck.
this is mostly rediculous per Bertuzzi's comment about McSorely a few years back. goes to show that you can talk all you want - but actions speak louder - and because of that he shouldnt be able to play

| Not exactly. A complete fracture is a break, yes, but what Moore is suffering from is 2 "chip fractures", which are very different and less severe than a break -- that's how this is better, MUCH BETTER, than a broken neck. Semantics aside, when most people hear "broken neck" they automatically think "paralyzed". |

i never said he was paralyzed, and i dont think that anyone here did. i doubt arguing semantics will make his actions seem less intense though.
as for him walking, all i can find is this:| quote: |
VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Colorado Avalanche center Steve Moore is experiencing post-concussion symptoms and memory loss, two days after he was jumped from behind and rammed face-first to the ice by Vancouver Canucks All-Star Todd Bertuzzi.
Doctors treating Moore at Vancouver General Hospital said Wednesday that the 25-year-old has transverse process spinal fractures of the C3 and C4 vertebrae, ligament injuries in the same area and multiple facial lacerations and abrasions.
|
and this
| quote: |
"Moore suffered a significant loss of consciousness at the time of the injury," doctors said in a statement. "He had a loss of memory for a period of time prior to and after the injury."
|
he is listed in stable condition and has not been transferred back to Denver - so i dont see where a sunny prognosis has come from

My point was that saying "broken neck" makes it sound far worse than it is, period.

I've heard 4-6 weeks til skating about 6 times on Sportsnet and TSN today. The internet isn't the ultimate resource for upfront news. |

Bottom line, a fractured neck is still absolutely terrible. It wasn't just a broken jaw, it wasn't just a broken nose or a concussion. Bertuzzi forced his head into the ice (you can see his hand on the back of his head). He tried to injure Moore, not just hurt him. There is a big different between hurt and injure and Bertuzzi knew what he was doing.
8-2 game, Crawford sends out his enforcer in Brad May and his psycho, who said that Moore wouldn't be in the Avs line-up come March, in Bertuzzi to go after Moore. I'm glad the organization got fined too because they had a hand in this. Crawford did similar stuff like this back in Colorado and he's still doing it. I would like nothing better than to see the Canucks get swept in the playoffs by whomever. |

Okay, that is just beyond retarded. Bertuzzi is one of the top 10 players in the league, why the hell would we send him out to get a possible suspension? Crawford would have sent out Brookbank, May, Ruutu if that was the intent.

At least we'll be in the playoffs :haha: |

I agree with the length of suspension....as well as the re-application clause. I think if Moore's injuries become worse than now stated, the suspension could last longer. This, the opinion of an avid Canucks fan and a fan and player of Hockey in general. I'm pretty pissed that Bert would be sucker puncdh Moore...you can see in the replay, that he was yapping at Moore before he hit him....probably trying to provoke him...and really if someone within the game...or the previous game would have dropped the gloves with him...this wouldn't have happened. And although I didn't see portions of both games, I do believe a couple guys tried to Scrap with Moore, but Moore wouldn't commit. Either way, there is NO excuse for Bert's actions, and there is no place in hockey for these actions. I don't believe he tried to hurt him in this manner, at all...but it was obvoious he was giving him a good round house to the side of the head.
As far as a comments on the Naslund hit on the Legal vs. Non-legal hit...nobody mentioned that it was mostly neither and both sides of the argument lead to the actual truth. Even if Naslund wasn't off balance and Moore played the body, it still shouldn't have been a legal hit. Naslund was 6 feet from the puck, with no control of it. And kids, no matter where on the ice that is, obstructing a player from the puck, where no control has been established is Interference. The refs did blow a call, and it was a 2 minute call for Interference. I'm sure the league reviewed the hit as well, and found that Naslund was vulnerable because he was off balance and head "low" (I don't think it was down aka Lindros), and Moores Elbow/shoulder was level with normal follow through. There was no suspension to hand out, and since you can't go back and tack on a 2 minute penalty, there was no action taken on the hit.
So to people that say it was a legal Nuetral Zone hit...well...I only give that a 1/2 truth since Naslund didn't have the puck. |

I don't get who that's directed at... I'm actually an Avalanche fan (ooooooo, now everyone can say I'm biased). But honestly, if Adam Foote, Rob Blake or anyone did what Bertuzzi did, I'd be ashamed like many Canuck fans are now.
To DJ Dovla, I have played many years of hockey and other competitive sports so I know everything about defending a teammate. But the point is someone from your team already fought Moore. And then Bertuzzi tried to start something and Moore wouldn't have any of it... so he decides to jump him anyway??? How does that make sense?? And as far as your comment saying " all you haters, Canucks Win the Stanley," that just sums up my whole argument about a Canuck bias.
Do you ppl not know the history of Todd Bertuzzi? A man who punched out his own teammate Jeff O'Neill, a man who punched a linesman, who kicked a player, who chased an opposing team's bus out of the parking lot after they were eliminated by them in the playoffs in the minor leagues, a man who came off of a bench to jump a Colorado player?? This is not a first time offence from a timid man... this guy has issues. |
