Ok i will now do a summary of some of the statesments ppl do about trance....then we all help to explain shy each of the is wrong ok...and then ill print it out and have it on my wall :) And give it to all my ignorant friends when they start to make stupid statesments..
ok here we go.....ill explain some of them:
"You cant dance to this music!"
Tell that to the 1,000,000 + who show up to the love parade EVERY year from around the world, and to the people in tha clubs....
"Man I can't believe you listen to trendy trance"
Trance is not trendy, we like our music, you like yours.
Trance is growing, but its not trendy
"It's all the same!"
On this one we could just list all types of trance there are and state how different they sound
"It's just THUD THUD THUD!"
"This music has no rythm"
Almost all trance tracks are build from a baseline...The reason why most tracks start with a "THUD THUD THUD" is to make it easy for the DJ to mix the track...You are suposed to dance to trance...Therefor you need a baseline
"It's not even real music!"
It is, i promise... More or less people even live for it
"It's just a noise!"

Most trance tracks are build up just like any classical music song you hear...that means several elements working together...since strings and other melodic elements are used you cant really call it noise can you?

A lot of people do take drugs to trance...But not everybody...alot of people just listen to it because of the music... Trance is called trance because its told to put you in a higher state of mind...without pills that is.

Yes it is...you never know what you get, and ther are always some bad pieces left in the corner that no-one wants...
"How can U listen to something without lyrics"
We dont, about 30% of todays trance tracks contain lyrics by some of the most beautifull voices you can imagine

Sometimes it is, trance has the abilities to effect you in many ways, sometimes it can make you cry, sometimes smile. Sometimes it will make you dance
"You cant mix trance"
About 90% of todays vinyls sold are dance tracks...they are released on vinyl for 2 reasons:
1)Its cheaper
2)So that DJs can spin it on clubs all over the world
Trance has one the largest DJ scene of all the music styles
Please tell me if anything is wrong here.....spellin misstakes for example...... :) |

Then you haven't been to Holland yet :p
In Holland most 'gabbers' (hardcore (terror, whatever) minded people) are now into trance music...
But still... there's a lot of difference in trance music. Personally I don't like the put-your-hands-in-the-air-trance (or cheesy trance). I prefer deeper things, like the things on Flying Rhino. But hell, everyone's got their own taste...;) |

I just want to say my point about this. First, Ive made trance for 3 years now with my computer and before that Ive played rock/pop/some experiental stuff with my cousins. I can play keyboards, guitar & bass. Most I hate these rock people who says that trance/techno isnt real music and u dont have to know anything about music to make it, they ing think that their 4 note rock is the most hardest thing to play/create. I just cant stand this, Ive played rock and I hate it because it's so simple, not challenging at all. You can make a common rock song in 10-15 mins, lyrics just might take longer.
Now making a good trance with computers isnt easy at all (sure u can do some 3-4min stuff with loop,bass and one synth in song but it sounds crap, well Id like to use Darude as a commercial example, heh no offence here :). I also want to point that it would be lots easier to me to make trance with real synth instead of computer, software progs are usually hard to learn and it's slow to work with'em but I cant afford to good synths. Brian Transeau is a good example of producer I admire a lot. He's incredibly talented musician and his melodies are just beatiful, I find'em genious. Now how long might it take to create a 10 min track that has several melodically different parts and always something new things appears in every 16-32 beats. Well according to my experiences maybe even month.I usually create my songs in one week but they arent that complex at all as the best proscene songs. I also remember of having about 45 different instruments/sounds in my best tunes, it's quite a lot comparing to rock's typical guitar, solo guitar and bass & drums pattern.
So i just wanted to say that rock people should shut the up :D. |

| Well, I don't know Y this fight between trance (electronica generaly) and rock. I agree that rock bands work for their music - but so do trance artists. I just think this shouldn't happen. |
