I have no idea what this will accomplish however I have no plans of just leaving it with him. I'm going to request what the chain of events will be and follow through on them. At the very least the Guvernment ownership will be aware that the proper authorities are looking into the problem.

I'm also currently in the process of finding out what a nightclub can and can't do regardig their searches. Doorstaff at clubs are not allowed to run their hands into your clothing, down your pants or touch your genitals. Hopefully I can get a set guideline as to what a legal search is and pass that information along to the various clubs so they know steps are being taken to make them accountable.

Let me make this perfectly clear. I am not out get the Guvernment or any other club. I just think it's long overdue that they need to be held accountable for the way they run their operations. If these things went on at any other business no one would put up with it but for some reason people think nightclubs are above the law.

I will keep you posted when I hear back from the Fire Marshall and the police.

You gotta be kidding me. I hope its you who gets denied entry at future event due to "overcrowding".

Also, the security is outsourced to a security company. Your concerns are with them.

Right on! I am with you on both points. It is definatly too crowded at the guv, all the time! how are people supposed to evacuate in a calm and orderly manner when you cant move??? I hope your complaint is actually acknoledged by the fire department. If you need someobody else to explain their experiences, i would be more than willing!

As for the searches...anyone keeping a knife or gun next to their balls are messed in the head anyways! i dont believe it is nessesarry to fondle my balls, everytime i go in. i am a guy, but i dont like it when its a 300 pound 40 year old women.

please keep us posted! and if there is anything i can do, please feel free to ask.

i love the guv for its dj line ups and visuals, but my safety is more important in the long run.

TAs are first in line at any events anyways because they are there for the DJ. Its the ed up people that we want to keep out, that come at 2 in the morning to get messed up at the club.

just cause something is outsourced, does not mean the initial company, who is providing the service(letting us in the guv to party) is not responsible, for the actions and conduct of a contracted partner. In the end the guv is who signs another contract with the security company, and determines if they are fit to control their events. the guv does have total control, dont be fooled by the magic of outsourcing.

Good move room2dance, I'll be impressed if you actually follow through on this. I agree with both your complaints.

TrickDadde, the bouncers search people to take away any drugs found or make sure you don't have any. Then, they give the confiscated drugs to their buddies who are dealing on the inside, so they can sell people's drugs back to them, or make sure people come without any and end up having to buy on the inside anyway. Then they get a cut of the sales.

Pretty nice Sham !!!

I have heard alot of shady things about Guv. I'm glad you're putting an affort out to try and fix the situation.

In the US, there is a STRICT capacity law here. Once the club reaches capacity, the people who are still waiting in line outside are out of luck! And for the people who got to the club early, and got in... they don't get cram packed inside like sardines in a damn can. At big events, there are ALWAYS fire marshalls around to make sure everything is going smoothly.

Anyway, good luck... hope everything works out!!! :)

I remember in the spring of 2000 when they found an OD behind the dumpster beside the Warehouse part.. never read a word though...

That's ing HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Another good thing about clubs in the US... if something like that happened, they would rush the kid to the hospital! Not leave him behind some dumpster!!!! What if the kid OD'd to the point that god forbid, he died????

the Guvernment needs to be held accountable for it's actions. I've had a major problem over the years that I've attended events at the guv and the koolhaus. They overcrowd and it's true, they are not following the fire regulations (which if broken and found to have done so = big fines). Remember folks that Charles K said after the staten island disaster and the chicago disaster that the guv had more fire exits than wall space in the National Post. I do think that this should be taken to the proper people and that Charles K should be held responsible if he is breaking the law. I mean some of you said to the thread starter that he was a wuss, I think he is just smarter than others because how many more times will this happen (overcrowding) till someone gets killed or seriously injured and if it can be prevented, why not. I mean almost every event I ever attended at the place was rammed beyond belief but when they had a limit on the tickets (digweed nov 2002 1500 tickets...lots of room to dance and safety was not an issue) and (sander k and max graham 1800 tickets and safety was not an issue). The last two times that tiesto played that complex 2001 and 2002.....it was overcrowded. The 2002 was so bad that you could hardly move. So I do hope that the fire marshall takes a look into it and if something is wrong...does something about it because we never want to see what happened in other parts of the world and will it take a bunch of dead bodies lying in bodybags on the street before we wake up and do something about it.
Transparence001
leave guv alone, its rammed cause theres alot of people who want to go! End of story dont be stupid and try to make a difference, dont screw it up for the rest of us, if you do something stupid ie get the guv closed down there will be plenty of pissed off people and there will be no place for your candyravin ass to dance except at a some ty club in the city. SO leave it alone stop to think what you are doing its not cool or a good idea to do this you are dumb and wasting your time and not thinking clearly.

IF you dont like it dont go! you all know full well its gonna be rammed and its been rammed since the begining of its existence, so stop complaining. There is no substitute for guv so when its gone, its gone and theres no need to have it gone just cause someone was crying one day saying "boo hoo its so packed in here i cant dance " everyone who has ever been to guv has said those exact words and you dont see people being running to the fire marshall.

P.S Go dance in the lake if you want room!

samhouse
long live the guv!!!

Do what you feel you have to mate....the overcrowding "was" a problem much as i hate to admit it.....im quite sure youre not the first tho....but best of luck to ya....if you manage to get something out of it then congratulations...

in regards to searches....how bout the strip searches they put you through @ Boa.......much worse than guv..MUCH worse......im not as sympathetic towards that cause...cept for that lil old lady ...the short one...shes nasty...*shuddddddder*...
