There is no reason to subject infants to a risky surgical procedure with no demonstrable benefits.
It has also been shown that it can produce significant psychological trauma in an unknown percentage of cases:

Male circumcision and female circumcision are equal practices in terms of medical and ethical validity. Both inflict needless harm to produce absolutely no benefit, and both should be prohibited by law without the expressed consent of the individual. |

eh, wouldn't there be a lot more psychologically messed up people in the world if this was true. sounds more like someone trying to prove their theory correct and ignoring some type I error rates. |

| I personally think its no big benifites with haveing either uncut or cut.... majority of the world is uncut, united states is the largest country to practice circumsisions. I truely dont believe people who are uncut have a higher health risk of getting serious problems, because if that was the case u would have majority of europea practicing circumsisions as well. But i remember reading something about circumsisions in the USA and they said that there is no real advantage of having a cut penis.. and they have said that most new borns in the USA are now not getting circumsized as much as they used to. So i think cut or uncut i dont think there is a big advantage of having either. |
