Decadence was amazing....
crystal method were off the hook, felt like I was @ a concert rather than at a club when they were playing (and they played get busy child too!)
dj icey played a pure anthem set, breaks remixes of crystal method’s coming back for more, prodigy outer space, daft punk better harder faster stronger, and beasties boys fight for your right to party! Nothing what I had expected.
Junkie XL was actually playing prog house which kinda surprised me, however it was really nice prog, very similar to sasha’s type of kind that he plays.
Caught a bit of Richard Humpty Vision, pretty damn good Chicago for the short time i was there, however I was more interested in Junkie at that time.
I found AVB's set to be weak.... I heard him play much better tracks @ labour of love 2002 IMO. meh. Felt like it was too progressive me.
I accidentally walked out of the guvernment forgetting that there were no ins or outs at like 5:30, so I waited for Cavan and his bud outside for like 3 hours after when the party finished @ almost 9. It was chilly, and I just hope I don’t get sick.
Anywow, this party was fun! Great vibe, friendly people, lots of ed people but whatever, and the best part about it was there was space to dance! go figure.
kudos to guv for pulling a rabbit out of their hat on this one. |

This was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had at the Guv. I got there around 11 and got in in about 5 mins flat....including coat check. That was the best organized entrance into the Guv that I've ever had. Well done.
Walked into the cool house and straight over to the door leading into the Orange room so I could get to the meet up in Charlies and they weren't letting anybody in so I had no idea where anybody was. I just walked around until I finally ran into Tordon who was surrounded by TA's.
I loved the Set up in the Kool Haus. They should do that more often. I think the definitely get more people in by doing it that way as well..........beautiful
I guess around 11:30 the doors opened to the Orange Room and within seconds the door was flooded with swarms of people. We all went to Charlies for the big meetup and I swear 90% of the people in that room were TA's...left right and centre...just everywhere.
Decided to go into the Guv to check out Crystal Method and decided once we got in there that it just wasn't worth it. Way too busy....once you got through the door, we just turned around
Hung out in Charlies for more...definitely a great vibe in their and the wicked beats of Vagrant, Deepgroove and Jon Trembley.
Then went over to the KoolHaus to hear the last hour of Dave Seaman and Junkie XL...whom I was there to see. I found him a bit slow at the beginning but it definitely picked up. That man knows how to put on a show.....hes got so much energy. I went absolutely insane when he dropped his remix of Breezer and then topped it off with Dirty Sticky Floors. Sorry for all the peoples whose feet I stepped on during these two songs, I just couldn't help myself. Lost my voice after that point but I've got it back this morning. I left the Kool Haus around 4:30 with drgoodvibe and tha broad as I couldn't stand anymore.
Shout outs to; drgoodvibe, tha_broad, Desidel, J_spot, Pixiechick, charmscars, mattvagrant, cono_sur, E2EIKIEL, Sgtfoo, max_q, Tordan, Gamma, Stereoprincess, Eso, Endlesswave, Loca, Loconet, the highroller, time2burn, infinity high, torontobarfly, chinaman, and ya thats all I can remember
and to the new TA's that I met last night, it was a pleasure
andy....something (I'm sorry I forgot your whole name...it was in the beginning of the night
chanoa...nice to meet you
and maria and her cousin joanne....very nice to meet you guys as well.
night 10/10 |

i actually registered jsut to post this review
what can i say
holy tttttttttttttttttttt
i haven't danced this much since infected mushroom
at first i didnt know if it would be worth 45 bucks but holy how wrong i was it was all worth it
i came in at around 12:30 went to guv right away..chilled there for a bit..bleh it was so packed (as usual) so i decided to "gtfo" there asap
when i walked in kool haus david seaman was on he played some really amazing tunes..i danced on the stage for a bit and then i decided to go to the front then like maybe 30min later junkie xl got on...OMFG i cant desribe how insane it was..everyone who was inside koolhaus at the time was going nuts and when he played my favourite song DONT WAKE UP POLICEMAN i died. Damn this guy has so much energy and the way he sang the songs and wow i jsut dont have the words to describe it.
then at around 4:30-5 armin got on..honestly i didnt even expect for it to be so good..he was en outstanding..he played all the songs i liked..people were going insane..load of energy that guy has..he was dancing..smiling..and he even signed me a flyer with his name on it :D
at around 7 am i started to get tired..the reason was that since around 1am i was dancing nonstop till 7 then at around 8am i thought i was gonna collapse so i desided to go home..i dont even know how i made it to the car because both of my hips are killing me right now and my abs hurt like ive done 2000 situps with a persoanl trainer.
david seaman 9/10
junkie xl 10/10
armin 10/10

What a great night!! Got to KH a little after 10 to hit up Charlies ... not gonna happen, they didn't open the orange room doors up til around 11:30, anyhow, gave me a chance to hear Luke Fair's set. I've heard better from him, but still a good start to the night.
Off to Charlies to meet some TAs, Max_Q and Firestarter, thanks for welcoming me in! I'm sure I'll see you again soon.
Checked out a jam packed guv for about half an hour to see Crystal Method. The lights they had going were unreal, I was loving it!
Back to KH for the rest of the night. Dave Seaman banged out some pretty nice techno, and then Junkie XL blew me away. I didn't really know what to expect from him, but was really looking forward to it. Wow.
Armin ... first time seeing Armin, and he did not disappoint either. Started off proggy, ended up with epics after epics. Really good way to end a really good night. |

fun but weird night...got in around 11-ish...suprised by the setup in KH...it was good, but I guess I'm just used to the old setup...anyone else think the crowd was a bit weird too? I dunno...just felt like a different crowd...not the usual KH vibe. Maybe I just had an off night.
Caught a chunk of Luke Fair...sound was WAY too loud...thankfully they seemed to turn it down after him? Decent set though with some interesting beats. It was my first time seeing Dave Seaman and he was very good, but didn't blow me away...it was also my first time seeing Junkie XL live...wow...he was great...super fun set and played a few big tracks that were great...Dirty Sticky Floors, Beastie Boys, Beauty Never Fades...he looked like he was enjoying himself too.
Armin...I agree, not the best set I've heard him spin, but he was sooooo into it, his enthusiasm was infectuous. I still liked his set, I've just heard him spin much better (more stuff I like, anyway)...because I stupidly didn't pass up a joint (big mistake!), I felt really sketchy around 5:30 and we left sometime after 7, I think...ugh. finally time to sleep... |

pretty good night
started off with hearing a part of what sounded like a solid set by vagrant.
then i went to Guv to hear one of the must ed up and original sets i've ever heard from Phil K. Was anyone else in the room at this time? How did you enjoy the music? It was very different but I LOVED it.
after phil K, seaman came on. i had downloaded a few of his sets this week and suffice to say i was pretty dissapointed with his set. a little too many slower and lighter tracks, alot of vocals, not really what i expected at all.
junkie XL took the stage after seaman and played a pretty good "set". i really enjoyed "you've gotta fight for your right". can anyone explain to me what he was doing? it looked like he was just playing a CD and then messing with the tracks from the CD.
when junkie XL finished, armin took the stage and i stayed in there for about 10 minutes until i heard the beats of addy vs. deko-ze calling me. i walked into the guv and there was sooooooooo much room to dance (for once) and addy was laying it on THICK (i don't know where deko-ze was). at about 6 am i decided my legs couldn't take anymore and went home. |

YEEEEEEEEAAAAAHHH!!
Decadence was definitely off da hook!
GQStyles and I got there (along with many other TA's) around 9:30-10 and we all went into the KH first.
Luke Fair always representing TO in a great fashion. He warmed up the place fairly well (no pun intended). Met some TA's (obviously) -- shout outs to Andy and TO-Guy (damn, I forgot your name dude), Loca and LocaNet (great to finally meet you guys), Highroller and nice to see you again Jason (J Spot). Forgive me if i can't remember who else i met at that time; I'm still trying to wake up...
We were just ITCHING to get into Charlies, but they weren't letting anyone in. Dammmn.
10:30 rolls by... 11:00 -- what the heck?
FINALLY they open the doors and everyone is herded through the orange room and straight to Charlies where we get to witness Tdot's wickedest technical dj's Vagrant. I got in when Matt was on deck. Both him and Eric TORE THE PLACE UP!! Fackin' GREAT JOB guys!!! JOO ROOL!!!
BTW. Charlies is SUCH a great little venue! PERFECT for TA parties IMHO -- the sound was beautiful, you can hear people when you talk, the setting is comfortable and it was the perfect size. (And also from what I hear from the DJ's standpoint, that Rane 2 channel mixer is pretty nice.)
So Vagrant's set ended and I stayed to hear a bit of Deepgroove's set, but I had to explore the rest of the complex now. I caught the last half hour I think of Hyper's set in the Guv -- man, does this guy ever know how to get the crowd goin'! GOTTA LUV THE BREAKS!!!
Hyper was amazing! I can't wait to catch a full set from him next time he's in town!
After Hyper, I stayed at the Guv to catch TCM. This was my first time seeing them Live. They were really good (obviously). But after Hyper's quicker-tempo set, i felt that TCM dragged on a bit. (Although the tracks they played brought me back to my early days -- and I couldn't believe I was actually watching them live last night -- what an experience). The only complaint I have is that they should have pumped their own PA through the Guv's PA 'cause the sound was a little too weak for my taste. But anyway...
I stayed for the first half-hour / 45 minutes but I wanted to take advantage of the great talent-pool that night and a few of us decided to check out Dave Seaman at KH. My first time time as well!! He was really good also! Nice and animated -- singin' along with the tracks he threw down. There's another wicked DJ i can say that I saw :)
Then I got to witness posssibly THE BEST set i've EVER HEARD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE --
JUNKIE XL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REPPPPPRESENNNNT!!
Oh man... i don't know where to start... This guy has it all -- the expression, the presence, the tech-know-how... He really knows how to lead a crowd. The WHOLE 1.5 hour set was perfect!
Hearing his wicked tracks/remixes live was SUCH a treat! (btw. The KH's sound system was POUNDIN' SOOO GOOD) Actually, right now I am doing a little mini-set with all the tracks I have of his (Started like he did with 'Catch up to my Step', then to "Don't wake up Policeman', into Sasha 'n' JXL's 'Breezer', into Dave Gahan's 'Dirty Sticky Floors'). I'm reliving last night. Soo wicked :)
When JXL was done, AVB came on. I was REALLY tired and sore, so I just ended up catching the first half of the track that he played and ended up going home at around 4:30AM.. but that's okay 'cause I'm gonna be seeing him again at Bal en Blanc on Sunday... booya!
So all in all, what a GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT night at the Guv complex! Couldn't ask for a better night sober ;) lol
Shouts to the usual crowd, and to the new people I met as well (forgive the spelling) including Laurie, Rebecca. And I know i'm probably missing some people... I know I know, I suck.
Yeah... that's my review. and I'm stickin' to it.
edit: oh yeah.. Judges???
Vagrant: 10/10
Hyper: 10/10
TCM: 8/10

| I was quite dissapointed with Armin's set I think he could have done a tinny bit better, but no use in crying over it. The Club rocked! |
