WOWZERS!!!!
My aching body just went through the most insane night ever and I loved it!!!! I went for TCM, JXL, Vagrant, DeepGroove, Tremblay, and AVB, and I got more than I knew possible.

Started in KH until Charlies at 11:30 and dammit, the grooves and beats going on in there were simply off-da-hook-insane-madness!!!
The Kool Haus was ok while we all met up there. Shouts outs to every1 I met again.. you guys rock the party atmosphere as usual. I'm sure that by the middle of the night many of us were not sober. I was so smashed eventually!!..and no hangover!! Just before we went into Charlies, I noticed that the layout of the place was perfect. Getting in was quick and easy.

After alot of fun and tonage in Charlies I ventured off to GUv for TCM, who came on about an hour late... oh well... they rocked the fukin house!!!! I've wanted to hear their stuff live for so long, and they did indeed put on a wikid show.
JXL in KH called for me and so on the way there I chilled in CHarlies again.. still amazing toonage coming outtta there... WOW!!!
JXL put on amazing tracks as I got in there, as most have mentionned. I think he was running samples through his little Moog synth (I think that was a Moog) while playing from CDs. Incredible stuff.. I'd definitely want to see him perform again.
And then the final showdown... Armin killed us all. He simply took the crowd and threw us all around the place. The start of the set was awesome, but around 6-7am I found that he got too prog-trancey for me, whereas I would have loved some more energy/uplifing tunage. Left around 730am and met the ever so dedicated Eso and RJ flyering for FILO & PERI <<--- must make it for that one.

WOW, WHAT A NIGHT!...AND WHEN WE WALKED OUT THE SUN WAS UP!!! WHAT A PLEASURE!!.. can't wait for pix, and thanx TAs for making the party such a party.:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :tongue2 :tongue2 :tongue2 :tongue2   :happy2:

It didn't seem like Seaman was even there (to be honest)......

As for Armin, his track selection was great but I'm sorry to me it seemed like a jukebox kind of set - programming was all over the place... I didn't feel like he was going anywhere in the night, it was just a random track after another - you know what I mean. (All I have to say, is that he better play Blue Fear at Bal en Blanc, lol. :))

The party as a whole looked good, coat check was amazingly efficient and you couldn't move in the main room early on in the night.

perfect description...that's EXACTLY the way I felt about Armin's set too...good tracks, of course, but I didn't find there to be any real flow or buildup during the set overall. I think after someone recently posted his extended set from somewhere else, I was hoping for more older stuff too. He was so giddy and excited throughout that it was hard not to enjoy it anyway :D Junkie XL definitely made the night though!

Awsome night.. Crystal Method was awsome .. the guy was beating the crap out of that poor keyboard :nervous: Junkie XL was also really good but he dragged it out too much. Armin was fantastic as always.

how about we try to put a track list together for Armins set!

all I know is

Binary Finary 1998 (was that the pvd rmx or some new one?)
Push - Strange world
fictivision_vs_phynn-escape-phynn_mix
Firewall - Sincere (Pulser Remix)

couple other familiar ones but cant remember the names

the reason I am asking is cause I'm dying to know the track he played at maybe around 530 545. It had a beautiful melodic build up. (yeah like that says alot - that describes every trance track haha)

CM was pretty cool to see..
caught a bit of RHV, the opening was awesome.

Headed to Kool Haus and I think Junkie XL layed it down!
He was definately the most energetic and got the crowd going insane!
AvB came on a bit late (30 minutes), which was kindof annoying 'cause it seemed like Junkie XL was getting dragged on..

AvB played some really good tracks, but too many mediocre ones, kindof got hard to dance to later in the night when I was getting tired. Also, the lighting in Kool Haus just doesn't do it for me..
Awesome crowd, nonethelesss, but I still prefer Guvy

tune for me was Binary Finary 2004
always nice to hear loops and things

ahh yes, but there's just something satisfying about staying until the lights come on, especially when it's one of your fav djs :D

i heard somebody say he was finished at around around 8:15.... i left at 8:17, thinking he was gonna play until 9:00 because the place was still bangin when i walked out into the sunshine..

did anybody stay right until the end? did avb stick around to sign stuff or did he take off almost right after? i'm curious what i missed

1) Solid Globe - Sahara
2) Above and Beyond - No one on earth (Gabriel and Dresden Mix)
3) Crescendo - Eternal Key (I Think)
4-finish) Dunno :)

I had a fantastic night. Chilled in the KH before being able to make my way over to Charlies for Vagrant. Great set Matt and Eric! Hugs to all the TAs I didn't get to give a real hug to last night.

Wanted to check out Crystal Method over on the Guvernment side so I hung out for awhile waiting for DJ Hyper to finish. I loved his dirty breaks tracks (Turn Meat Out - Meat Katie was sweet) but I find the guvernment isn't the best venue for breaks. For me to enjoy a good hard breaks set, the room has to be dark , with less lights and less show. Couldn't get into the dirty grind of the breaks with all the lasers and glowsticks and such. I didn't end up staying in the Guv for CM ... caught Intergalactic but after waiting around for the delay in their start I found it got to crowded and DJ Hyper's constant announcements on the Mic was too Spring Break for my liking. However, that is only my peronal opinion and preference. But...if he blew that cheesy train horn one more time I was going to throw my drink up at the booth. LOL. I would like to see DJ Hyper in a darker venue that is more intimate and without all the chatter as I really did like his track selection.

Got into the KH to see most of Dave's Seaman set. I enjoyed his set but I was not quite ready to let loose yet so I chatted amongst the crowd and saved my energy for Junkie XL and Armin.

I too really enjoyed Junkie XL, he is quite the showman. His set was a little to mainstream for my liking as all the songs he played are nothing I really hadn't heard before and are tracks that are not that hard to come by. Beauty Never Fades and Breezer are always beauties to drift off too so I had a moment when he dropped those. I think what I enjoyed most about his set was how much I could feed off the energy of the dancefloor during his set as he really got the crowd going.

As always I really loved Armin's set. God love him for his permanant smile, undying enthusiasm and true love for what he does. Even if you aren't a lover of his stuff you can't help but want to put your hands in the air and enjoy the moment with him. Can't say I enjoyed last night's set as much as his last set in the KH after Lawler but I have to say I love his new progression into the dark and prog trance. Playing Roland Klinkenbergs Monday Groove right near the beginning of the set was so sweet...bit out of place I think, but loved that he dropped it. I would have liked to have had him serve up more darker stuff and had him put all these nasty beats together into one monster 1 or 2 hour cluster instead of scattered about the high end stuff. I too found that he was kind of all over the place. Although I am a prog girl I still love every minute of his high end trance tracks. No cheese in this boys collection that's for sure. He is one of the only true trance DJs I do still enjoy. I managed to close the night with conosur in the middle of the dancefloor around 8:30...well actually... I headed for my coat about 5 minutes before Armin shut things down...but Jason was still going hard. God love you boy! I always find that the last hour is where Armin is at his finest...for me that is...because I prefer the prog trance ..his beats get darker and wee bit nasty...pounded into my brain. So the last 2 hours for me was where the night was at for me.

All in all I had a great night. Love that KH wasn't too crowded so I could actually do some real dancing. Have to say I am totally looking forward to the summer no smoking regs coming into affect. On any given night I could dance atleast a few more hours if it weren't for the smoke giving me a headache and destroying my contacts....and I need more time on that dancefloor dammit! ;)
The Highroller
