It will be interesting to see how this affects the Iraqi prisoner "scandal." By the worldwide media attention of this event, or the lack thereof, I find the hypocracy stunning. Hummiliating prisoners is apparantly a worldwide news event, while the ritualistic beheading of a prisoner is almost seen as the status quo, and even more troubling something "we had coming." The scale of the two actions are not even comparable. On one side we have a handful of Americans acting completely irresponsibly by dehumanizing hooded prisoners causing worldwide outrage. On the other side we have a handful of hooded Irqais killing a prisoner like an animal that garnishes no major response by the international media. It just further prooves to me that the US is put on an unreasonable pedestal that no other group, individual or organization is even remotely close to.
Although I find what was done in that Iraqi prison to be vile, I am loosing sympathy for those prisoners for two reasons. One, as seen numerous times, American or other prisoners in the hands of Iraqis are not treated to the standards even those Iraqis found in the hands of Americans. Two, the obvious bias and revel taken by the international and domestic media in reporting the actions of the American or allied military police while largely ignoring or downplaying the injustices performed by "freedom fighters" on their hostages is stunning and dishearting. |

Also on Tuesday, the body of a westerner, believed to be American, was found in Baghdad, a senior US military official told reporters.
He said the westerner, whose body was found on Monday, was not a member of the US armed forces and did not work for the Defence Department, but would offer no further details.

You know Occ I found that stunning, Al-Jazeera is ontop of everything right away the moment a fart is let loose in Iraq and this is nowhere on their website:conf: Maybe it will appear later:stongue: Now you know if an American soldier had done this to an Iraqi it would be front page news around the world and Al-Jazeera would have it as the lead story, but its like they are embarassed to even mention this on their website.
No matter if this guy was Jewish, American, Russian, French, Muslim, Catholic the point is the incident was ed up. I wouldn't subject my worse enemy to such a death. Only subhumans could kill another man like that without any compuction to eat away at their soul. If I did that I would think about it for the rest of my life till I die, I'm sure Allah will be waiting for those masked s. If you want to say this guy shouldn't have been in Iraq that is one thing but to kill him is sickening, why not hold him prisoner indefinitely. All I can do is shake my head, why is Al Zarqawi still free and not dead. |

give me one reason why it should be frontpage??
ONE man got killed by three men seeking attention and revenge.
and it happened some days ago... now that a tape showing his death is available, it should make the frontpage??:conf: :conf: :conf:
thats sensationalism, something that Al Jazeera don't want. |

Right, and building pyramids with 10 Iraqis by six men and a women is frontpage news for some reason?
It should be frontpage news because it is news - it is NEW - even Al Q has till yet not gone to butchering its captives.
If I was Rumsfeld, I'd do away with Geneva, and start slaughtering one Al Q captive (altough humanily ;) ) for every westener or Iraqi civilian Al Q slaughters.
Then you'll see how quick Al Q will be to stop its insanity.
:whip:
...
For torturing Iraqi captives, Rumsfeld who at present time had no direct connection to the event is being pressurized from the outcry of WESTERN media and hippies (undoubtedly also Arab media calls for his resignation). Even I, a right-wing hawkish extremist (I guess thats putting it mildly for some of you ;) ), was appalled and condemned the development of such an event.
For slaughting an American, Al Zahri faces nothing. No cry, no charges, not a plea to the Koran or humanisim, not even a murmur. Where is the outrage in the Arab world, even among the fanatics? Especially among the educated?
The press is run always run by hippies - the intellectuals - even in the Arab world. The dismissal by the elite of a society of such an issue, is highly appaling. Not only is there a double standard in which the world already judges Ameirca, but their is a double standard by which the world judges itself.
