good times...good tunes?????
I thought his set wasnt upto mark with the previous sets of his ive heard..was nicely crowded and the atmosphere was sweet.
But except for white room and some other 2 songs...he played no real classic/new stuff.
Sorta disappointed with the set...the only thing that kept the place going was his enthusiasm I believe.

Nice meeting Lucid and Ninja-k. My friends and I went upstairs close to the DJ boot to watch Armin come on and mix. The DJ before Armin was playing pump up the jam!!! I told my friends "this is in awful!!!" Ive always hated that song. This drunk guy bumps into me and says is this Armin? And me and my friends just start laughing and I say "I don't think Armin would ever play pump up the jam.
I liked his opening song and the song before Communication.
Playlist anyone??

i had an awesome night. :D it was cool to meet all the TA's - nick, bobby, squirrel, tom, timmyboy, rubin, ummm other names i know i'm forgetting. i feel like i met so many new people. but sam i didn't see you at all!! where were you hiding out?

his set was pretty good. not as memorable as the set back in Feb or last August, but the highlight of the night for me was hearing Communication. i heard a few tracks i didn't recognize that were pretty sweet.

i got Armin to sign a CD insert, and a blurry picture with him... so now i can die a happy woman. :happy2: i wanted to show him my tattoo but it was kinda dark and the security was kicking us all out.

i have some pics here. *sigh* i <3 armin.

well, as my first real clubbing experience, i definately had a blast ! Vision was a great place for Armin to play. The white smoke that kept coming down, the atmosphere, and the music was all awesome. I was glad to hear communication as well [love that track]! Mazi was...ok . i preferred Armin's music a lot better. and although he ended a little early [i expected him to play all the way until 4:00], it was still fabulous. I ended up towards the back of the main floor right in front of a tower of basses and so when he was closing with that one bassline [and as it kept getting slower and slower], it was amazing to actually FEEL that bass. ah! so cool.

I can see why Armin is regarded as such a great DJ. He looked like he was having fun the whole time, and always had a smile on his face . and he was with the crowd the whole time. he always got the party jumpin' .

Like i said, this was my first real club/DJ experience [iowa clubs suck real bad, and Zero Gravity was back in the high school days], so i have nothing to really compare this to, but I was highly satisfied and had a great time.

And now i'm definately considering Tiesto in June. oh yes :)

Hahaha here's my review. This might be rambling coherent drivel but I'll do my best.

First I'd like to apologize if I wasn't exactly social or whatever, I think that with the combination of a whole weekend of partying non-stop and some other things I ended up being more f'd than I've been in my entire life. Kind of funny really when you can hear people saying how ed you look and they're in the same frame of mind :p Almost too much at times but bearable. So - next time I'll be more fun I promise :) Definitely need to have actual convos with some of ya :D

I had a great time, was wonderful meeting some new faces (Kristin, Myra, neile, timmyboy) and seeing the usual suspects as well (you know who you are :) ) Fairly disappointed that Armin's flight out of Vegas got all screwed up and he ended up getting in late but all in all I thought the set was pretty decent. A lot of tracks w/in the past 2 months were played, way less new ones than I would've expected. Somehow I was able to remember a fairly decent # of the records he played even though I barely knew my own name :p

Anyone who's interested in a playlist here's what I could come up with.

Antiloop - Hello Strings
Powerplant ft Trout - Turn It Into Gold (Probspot Remix)
Firewall - Sincere (Pulser Remix) [was dying to hear this live]
Paul van Dyk - Buenaventura (Reflections Remix) [!!]
Jon Con vs Nikola ft Perasma - Swing To Harmony (Remix)
Underwold - Born Slippy.NUXX
Katana - In Silence (Txitxarro Remix) [!!]
Armin van Buuren - Communication 2004
Tiesto - Adagio For Strings [mint to hear live again]
Remy & Roland - Till Ya Drop [!!]
Above & Beyond - No One On Earth (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
Arctic Quest - Offbeat
Mark Norman - Phantom Manor [!!]
Sander van Doorn - Punk'd (SvD Remix) [track of the night imo]
Ton TB - Dream Machine
A Force - Atomic Outbreak
Mojado ft. Mr Sam - Naranja (Dmitri Andreas Vision)
Evanescence - Hello (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
Vadim Zhukov - Exit vs Remy & Roland Klinkenberg - Fearless (Acapella)
Roland Klinkenberg - Monday Groove
Factoria - A Legends Legacy (Original Mix)
Kenny Hayes - Daybreaker (Signum Dub)
Moonrush - Risky Business (Arc In The Sky vs. Atlantis Remix)

Okay that's the best I can do for now. Probably more to come in the upcoming days for whoever is interested.

Wow was I so ed up :p Tom that picture from the end of the night could be used as some substantial blackmail material against me.

:stongue:

Oh yeah and if anyone knows if he played John Remedy - Ventricle or Electric Movement - Intruder I'd like to know because those were the two I was looking forward to the most but for like 30 min I had absolutely no idea what was going on :nervous: :thepirate

Hats off to Armin for putting together a decent show - considering he'd been up for more than 24 hours (he hadn't slept since his Vegas gig) and he had to spend 8 hours in the Vegas airport (ugh! - i've spent quality time in airports too due to business travel and it is NOT fun). Spundae scrambled the entire day trying to find a flight for him and also had to try and find a back-up dj (a back-up for Armin?) in case he wasn't going to make the gig. Poor Armin had to fly Southwest and his plane landed at 12:05 and he was on the decks by 1:30 (after a short detour to a fast food restaurant and a shower) - pretty impressive.

The highlight of the night for me had to be Communication and Punk'd (gawd - I love that track and it sounded soooooooo good at the club). His set was harder than I've ever heard him - and for some reason I got bored at the end - I dunno. I think I danced more at the afters than at the club. I think my house/tech house friends are having too much of an influence on me.

Also - Armin only spun for 2+ hours - so I think he owes the Chicago TA's a true EXTENDED set (as advertised on the flyers) the next time he's in town. :D

Nice to meet some new peeps and seeing all the regulars. I wonder how that group photo turned out?!

That was a ing sick remix of that track. Mazi played some killer in his set ... Alex Dolby - Psiko Garden really tore the place up.

He played "White Room"? Where the hell was I? Oh, that's right...

And as far as the set goes...it was okay. I thought it was good overall, I just wanted more. 3 hours? Maybe 3 hours...he played for like 4+ last time he was here. He'll be back though.

Hope all had a good time, can't wait for the next show. Tiesto's gonna be hot. I'm gonna try to make it to a meet-up to meet some of you kats. I garauntee we've all seen each other before, cause I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to recognize faces at important trance events, so I imagine it's all of you.

Enough said. Hope you all had a good time.

Mazi f'ckin owned vision for a good chunk of the night. I spent all my energy on Mazi... I had very little left for Armin. Very, very, very well done.
