i dont know about janette.
i was all about going, but then i found out that danny is booked to spin at another party from 1-2 the same night of course. so i will be unable to make it.
its all good though, i just ordered a pizza. i'm getting my fix as we speak. |

he's spinning in PA... not sure of the venue, i didnt even ask. since he's not going on til 1, i was probably going to work during the day. i never thought about driving to ny and then coming back... now there is a possibility.
but if i didnt make it back i would feel like a complete . |

OK everyone. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this shin-dig has run into a perverbial "brick wall" I got a call from the secretary to the commissioner of the parks dept telling me the the permit # issued was no longer going to be valid because the commisioner feels that the amplified sound would interfere with the lifeguards ability to do their job. What a crock of . I was told that we could still have the party on that date, but we couldn't get any sound permit for music. So basically, what's the point of having a beach party w/o music? The earliest possible date to have this party on the beach would be Sept 18th. That weekend wouldn't be bad except for the fact that PVD will be playing in Boston on the 17th & then DC on the 18th so that weekend is no good. Basically, the only possible date to have this is Oct. 2nd. Let's see, Oct. 2nd on the beach=a little too cold I think. I would still do it, but I'm a crazy mofo! I've been on the phone back and forth with the parks dept for over 2 hours back and forth trying to switch it to a park and keep the same date. Everything is pretty much booked to the max. My only lifeline with this is the Ampa-theatre in forest park. if there isn't a show booked there, it would be the ideal place to have this. It has a stage with a canopy over it which would be ideal for the dj booth setup. Anyway. I spoke with Brian already and we're now also looking into possible renting a loft to do this. If this happens, unfortunately we'd have to charge an admission fee which is what we all wanted to stay away from.
so basically, I want to express my deepest apologies for not being able to come thru with these permits. I tried my hardest to do everything in my power to make this happen. And it seems all the hard work was for nothing. Hopefully we can make something else work by the summers end. Again, I'm soooo sorry that this didn't fall thru. I was really so excited about the whole thing.:( :sadgreen:
