Bending spoons

So these are kind of interesting... bending spoons with your mind. Michael Crichton, a Harvard MD, has done it, claims it's real, and wonders what all the fuss is about. Various researchers from Stanford's Research Institute have taken part in it, and feel it's real.

Before you laugh it off, first try to buckle the head of a stainless steel spoon. Nearly impossible, ain't it? Crichton swears he did it with the touch of a finger. To be fair, most beginners require a little bit of touching. But it's still impressive if it's real.

Has anyone here been to a "spoon-bending" party? Experiences?

whoa- that's really weird. and inevitably- it alludes to the Matrix. I'm sure that someone will soon claim that they have dodged 200+ bullets by moving incredibly fast. Nonetheless... :wtf:

An intelligent and valuable insight. Thanks. I don't suppose you tried flattening the head of a spoon yourself (with your bare hands, that is)? But I suppose your mind is already made up, since you're smarter than Stanford and Harvard trained research scientists and doctors.

oh please , just amazing how easily ppl are fooled into believing crap like this!

Yet another brilliant refutation. Do you have anything *intelligent* to say?

Ahh yes, if I recall correctly... the "magician" performs a sleight of hand without the audience seeing it. Trouble is, Crichton did it himself... after physically trying as hard as he could (and failing) to bend the head of the spoon. Debunking wack is fun, but these haven't been debunked yet.
