WEMF 10 YEAR.... Absolutely Amazing!!!!!
This year was my fourth wemf and was without question the best one!
I got there around 6pm on Friday took just under 2 hours to get there considering how bad the traffic was, and I was loving the venue. Unfortunately my friends that got there earlier in the day couldn't get a spot on the left side were the TA area was so we ended up camping on the right hand side, a few tents in front of the DnB Renegades stage, which was cool to an extent...if you wanted to sleep in the afternoon it sucked, but if you wanted to hear some DnB it was perfect.
Now for the Friday night...I loved the hangers... it was very cool outside, but inside was perfect... not too hot and not cold at all. It was wicked to look above the DJ booth and see the TrancEaddict banner hanging there!
I managed to only check out Chris Liberator, Madame Zu, Scott Project, and D:Fuse. Fav set of the night was D:Fuse his set was a nice proggy Trance set... highlight track was Peter Martin pres. Anthanasia "Perfect Wave". I thought Madame Zu and Liberator both played great that night as well, but as for Scott Project went... uhmm he was ok, his mixing skills seemed to be off on more than a few tracks that night.
Saturday Night:
Went up earlier because we all wanted to hear Os/2 and Dr. Trance play the 10yr Anniversary set. For what it was, even though the mixing/programming wasn't the best, I thought they did a good job considering how they wanted to play as many classics as they could in the set... loved hearing some of those tracks that I haven't heard at parties in years. After them came on Dave The Drummer who through down a wicked hard Techno set had me going good the whole time. Lab 4 came on after and although they're beats are hard I found them to be way to cheesey for my liking... stayed outside for most of their performance. Johan Gielen imo put on the second best set of the weekend, playing a very techy set at first then into some classics and ended it off with nice. I can't remember everything he played, but do remember some pretty good mixes that hardly anyone noticed because he did it in such an amazing way that most ppl would have thought it was the same song... one of the mixes was with Ayla - Ayla and Lost Tribe - Gamemaster... wow!! he played a few other great tracks... Signum - Through, and yeah Paul Oakenfold - Summer Sun. Motorcycle... well Jes byherself was alright... I'm not really feeling their stuff, but I thought she did a great job, and it was good to hear that she could actually sing very good live. After that was the man of the weekend and the DJ I was anticipating the most after seeing him play a mind-blowing set in October... JOHN OO FLEMING!!! I managed to talk to him earlier for about 10 minutes and he was really excited to play and was also excited about his upcomming gig at Boa (which i will definitely be going too!) So on he went after Motorcycle and played the set of the weekend! With Flawless mixing, he played a very nice Progressive Psy-Trance set that had me in my JOOF t-shirt dancing all over the place. Definitely left me satisfied and now I'm craving for another JOOF fix! Some of the tracks he played that night were, The Prodigy - Voodoo People (Eskimo Remix), Steve Birtch - Spaced out, Dirk Technic - I love you, Beetseekers - Reflextion (John 00 Fleming remix).
After Fleming was done, we all headed back to the tents... socializing and what not, and before i knew it... more than half the ppl had gone home and WEMF was over. :(
This was my fav wemf, and I would like to Thank The TR and Destiny Crew as well as TRancEaddict for making this year such a great experience. Not to mention the vibe from all the ppl that attended this year... I'm now looking forward to next year!!!
WEMF RATINGS:
DJ's: 7.5/10... if there were more Trance Dj's there then it probably would be higher!
VENUE: 10/10... best venue, plus with everything else close by!
VIBE: 9.5/10... probably the best vibe I've had at wemf in years!!!

I hope to see you at the Ascension vs. Aquabass boat cruise on
August 27. As an added bonus, because I have been working with him to make some new tracks...and because I think he's a GREAT DJ, St. Pete will go head to head with me that night on the trance deck.

I'll definitely be there for that!! |
