That thing is here that we dont agree on the criteria. Every time ive gotten into this argument, the muscle fan boys started throwing 1/4 miles times at me. This may not seem objective but a 1/4 time tells you about a cars overall performance, but for some people that is the only criteria that tell them if a car is good or not  In general american cars suck at handling so they respond to this in the only way they know...bigger engines with more HP so logicaly they will be better in a straight line. But put them on a real race track where one needs to brake, shift and tackle corners they loose the HP advantage.

BTW yes the Ford GT is preety fast and the vette C6 doesnt handle like a vbette at all it can actualy take a corner at a decent speed (suprisiongly since it still has leaf springs:nervous: ) but those are just two drops in the ocean...they are the best americans can do and they compete with the mostly average cars of the rest of the world
*sigh* I love the generalizations, ...the best Americans can do... Have we failed to notice Saleen, the Viper GTS-R, Panoz, MT900, the XLR or CTS-V blah blh blah. Just cause we drive SUVs doesnt mean we don't have cars that compete with the best Europe has to offer. Often times the faster hand built roadsters from europe use the American engines.

Citroen

would be leading the WRC, with Ford behind it as tally'd points ranked higher by MANUFACTURER. And usually point tallying is a distribution between CAR and DRIVER. Solberg(subaru) is 2nd above Martin representing Ford. I think alot of the jibber jabber here is all OPINIONATED!

uhm...actually watching the WRC might help on forming opinions. Rally Finland is generally agreed to be the toughest rally in the world and Martin took it in the Focus. Hes usually not first, but kicking some nice ass seeing as the focus is a lot younger than the subaru. The focus is kicking ass. That isnt debatable.

Some love domestic others love imports...the blocks are completely different...its like comparing cast iron to aluminum? wtf...and to be quite honest, 4 cylinders pushing out over 300+hp (modded or not "sti& evo") is quite an accomplishment.

#1 that engine alloy analogy made no sense

#2 the WRX with its 4 cyl hits 750hp np. My brothers WRX has 350 right now and hes barely touched it. plus ALL the WRC cars are 4 cyl. You think theyre bitch cars? The 4 banger is a wonderful engine. Dont talk

tracks do have straights as well. And until recently with the advanced ECU tech going into wheel control, the still amazing engineering of Americans (moon in 1969 for example) has been able to keep close enough to hit those straights and eat the competition.

the GT beats ferraris if you forgot and labeling something as a "vette" is retarded considering its been around for over 50 years. lingenfelter and callaway have also done some pretty amazing things with them. EG, the 1980s sledgehammer which until 2002 held worlds fastest car title.

Europeans arent the end all companies, and I think youre probably unaware that americans own many car cos over there and are doing what they would do here if it wasnt for Californian emission standards.

Keep a close eye on what cali is doing for the emissions standards, because 90% of the time, the same laws will be in your state in a year or two. anyone ever heard of OBDIII? That's closer to being implimented in california then anywhere else.

Californian emissions laws :whip: :whip: :whip:

ps. Click on obdIII for more info.

Ohh well, it brings me work.

There's no such thing as an RB18DET:rolleyes: I think you mean the CA18DETT:rolleyes: Personally, I don't think you would be able to distinguish the differences between an apple and a pear, because just about everything you attempted to validate in your post was incorrect.:o
