I'm in a non EDM mood tonight. So I am enjoying the sounds of the Velvet Revolver - Contraband Album.

Currently listening to: Velvet Revolver - Dirty Little Thing. |

I’m chilling to
Grandnational - Talk Amongst Yourselves (sasha rework)
I’m playing this beaut @ a 90 bpm. When its slowed down, it enhances the depressing feel
btw who is the Velvet Revolver ? Never heard of em |

Can't believe you never heard of them man. Being the 80's Metal Fan that you are.

Scott Weiland. Slash. Duff McKagen. Matt Sorum. It doesn't seem like a good idea to put these people in a room together, let alone a band. But it was the same exact explosive element of danger and low I.Q. scores that made both of these players' former groups--Stone Temple Pilots and Guns N' Roses--sell billions, so why stand in their way? The music on Contraband sounds appropriately monumental, all window-quivering riffs, and ticker-tape parade choruses. "Do It For the Kids" and "Set Me Free" take direct inspiration from Nirvana, meaning they are brilliantly raw, raucous, and indecent. It's great stuff. |
So anway Velvet Revolver is 3/5ths of Guns N Roses, Dave Kushner of The Cult/Suicidal Tendencies, & Scott Weiland the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots. Anyway they joined together and formed one of the best bands and best record that I've heard in a while. |

ahh k that’s why I have never heard of em. The band is relativity new. I quit listening to any new rock bands after about 1998. During this time, I was making a total transformation into the electro world. During that transfer I pretty much shunned out any other music genre, except for what I already knew (bands like metallica, pantera, pink floyd etc)
Why not, Ill check em out anyway !!
thanks for the info Joel. I appreciate it :D |

Well if you do check them out. Listen to it with no expectations dont compare it to old Guns N Roses Records or anything for that matter. Its just good old fashioned kick you in the ass rock n roll. :disbelief |
