Whats going on?
I have been lurking on this forum for a while and find it pretty informative. With that being said, I would like to take the time to introduce myself and maybe make for some future meetings.
I just moved down to Tampa after a couple of years in the US Army. I live with a roommate on BBD by the school (which I will start attending in January). I don¡¦t want this post to get too carried away, but ¡V in a nutshell- both my roommate and I are into EDM pretty heavily and are trying to make the most of it here in Tampa. More specifically, personally, I am going through a big Ferry Corsten phase.
I have tix for the TIC in Miami, which I have had since before the original was scheduled and subsequently delayed by the Hurricane. Hell, I had tix for Tiesto in NOLA until Katrina messed that one up.
Anyway, we are both at the AMP on most Saturday nights. Unlike the consensus here, I generally get into what Mondo and Kid Leow play, but- then again- I am usually highly intoxicated ƒº Of course, I should specify that I am into their spinning unto the occasional hip-hop mash gets thrown in and then I start to feel a bit queasy- but, there aren¡¦t a lot of choices in these parts¡K I haven¡¦t been to Hyde Park yet, but after doing some research here, that seems like my likely next stop on the party tour. That, and I am at Hard Rock more then I really should be.
So, yeah, hit me up sometime if you want. I would love to get to know more people in the area with similar music tastes- or more people in the area in general, since I have been waiting for school to start to really start the whole networking thing. My roommate (whom I met through the Army) is originally from Miami so we are all about roadtrips back down there.

| My roommate was an 11B, Specialist. I was a 13F - Forward Observer, Sergeant. We were in the same light infantry platoon for a year in a Iraq. Good times. Not much for clubs though ;) |

heh.. no ... im a 13A... FSO for a Tank Company.... I have over 60 combat fire missions this year in Iraq.... |

| FSO, huh? It would be pretty coincidental if you did ROTC at USF, huh? I mean, being that I start the program in January? And, hold on, you aren't an FSO for a tank company in 3ID are you? If either of these two things are true, then it would just be weird.... |

Hm. I don't think I ever introduced myself either. Been posting a lot lately so here it goes:
Name: Mark
Age: 18 (on the 23rd!)
Location: wellington (in west palm beach for those who dont know...)
Favorite DJs: Ferry Corsten, Angello & Ingrosso, Pendulum, Sander K, PVD, AVB, Tiesto, Edgar V
Favorite Producers: All of the above plus Gabriel and Dresden, Menno De Jong, Signum, Above and Beyond, Rank 1, Solid Globe, Haylon, Andy Moore
Occupation: Student, DJ (I do a bit of mobile dj'ing for friends, but it's mainly hiphop, and I can't stand that, so I'll be retiring from that soon), bedroom dj and dreamer...Florida State University bound bitches! Woot Seminoles...anyway...
Hopefully me and my DJ partner plan on getting a residency (its in talks right now) at a club on Clematis in down town west palm beach playing house/progressive type stuff.
Since the split of my old dj partner, I was left with half equipment, so really I have one CDJ-1000MKI, and in a month or so I'll have enough saved for a CDJ-1000MKII so I can get back to practicing again. Then eventually I'll upgrade my mixer to a DJM-500 (I wish..:crazy: ). Untill then, it's been constant vinyl and cd hunting...just because I spin on CDJ's doesn't mean I can't buy vinyl and convert it ;)

Horrible and sweaty picture of me at Bang Music Festival a few months ago, during the swedish house mafia's set (Oh I love them so...I hope they're at ultra! Rumor has it...). Guy to my right is my current DJ Partner Dan (not on TA, but I'll convince him to sign up eventually! :haha: )
Just came back from Tiesto In Concert yesterday, which was a blast! Hope to bump into you guys sometime or something during the WMC! |
