KrinKer is right
Tiesto always play more Techno when he's in Montreal.
Even if I would like to hear more Trance from him.
And playing the same 5 tracks to open his set town after town and all the other tracks after that... that doesn't make his track selection more original than what Marco G did for one single night.
Sure, Tiesto is on tour and he doesn'T have time to go back home and change the records in his bag.
but I still don'T get it, I mean, Marco played something to put a groove on, which worked perfectly, every body was getting warmed up. and when he played Cafe Del Mar and Greece 2000, I was happy to hear those classics. Where were you during his set ? hiding in the bathroom or sitting on your ass bored waiting for Tiesto to come ? |

I totally agree. Those tracks are the tracks that make me start jumping and yelling. Marco G did an excellent job IMO and I don't understand why you guys complain about it. Most of people were yelling and jumping with Marco G. |

I like it when an opening DJ plays a similar style to that of the headlining DJ. Too often I go to Aria and get Yaz dropping nothing but techno before a trance DJ and then when he comes on and starts playing prog or trance, it totally s things up. Sounds like what Marco G did is what an opening set should sound like. Get people excited by playing a prog/trance tune here and there, because afterall, they are there to see a prog/trance DJ.
My favourite warm up set to this date is still Preach's set before PVD in April 2003. |

wow the guy should clearly consider staying home if he cant addapt to OTHER COUNTRIES MUSICS...look man, we dont ing care about trance here....thats why Tiesto dont really play trance when he comes.....this time he did...good for trance-lovers....but dont complain the opening dj played a little too hard for you! he probably played really softer than usual, cause normally he kicks ass.....
the point is....he try to addapt his music to Tiesto style....did a great job on it...so stfu |

Oh the Tiesto dissing broke out.
Listen, I'm relatively new to the world of sets and pro DJs (as my tag reads :P) but I can tell you this much. I paid $55 bucks to see Tiesto and I'd pay it again, why? Plain and simple he's the worlds greatest DJ and although I agree that he tends to play the same records over and over again it's still good music.
I think Marco G played an incredible opening set but I doubt he's touring the world.
Let's give Tiesto a break he doesn't really have the time to sort through hundreds of songs each night/week.
And when it comes to people not liking his music, that's fine. No one is forcing you to listen to Tiesto, you either love him or you don't. :)
Flame away if you may. :P |
