they're now the LAAoA!

Seriously, they should have kept it as the Anaheim Angels.

I can just imagine the new chants. So long! :haha:
Matt
and now Randy Johnson trade to Yanks has been approved.

Baseball is going to , and Bob Selig is the worst commissioner EVER.

I wouldn't say he is the worst ever,i am still a fan of his for bringing the wildcard into the baseball playoffs

How can he NOT approve the RJ trade? There's no reason not to. And the Yankees have not won a WS the past three years despite being head and shoulders above all other teams in terms of salary.

i see nothing wrong with the RJ trade..
i think people dont like him cause of how he let this whole steroid mess get out of hand, lets the players get away with to many stuff, he shoudve been more strict.
And hasnt implemented a salary cap.Which is what Matt should really be pissed about.
Personally I think the NHL commish and the college football commitee are alot worse.

The baseball union is too strong or there probably would be a salary cap. I mean... Ron Artest gets suspended for 73 for going into the stands and hitting a fan. Meanwhile Frank Francisco throws a chair at a fan and gets suspended for 15 games.

All in all, I think Selig has done fine within the limits of what he really can do, which isn't much.

I think at the moment i'm more worried about the money the Mets are about to blow on Beltran than the RJ trade...120 million for a .288 hitter.Too much money for one guy when that team has multiple holes

He's a .284 hitter who is trending upwards, not downwards. All his peropheral stats are trending up. His OBP in relation to his AVG has steadily gone up the past few years and last year it was .100 points higher than his BA. That's great. At Shea where he'd likely hit less homeruns and get more doubles, His AVG could probably be .300 and he could have a .400 OBP with 25-30 HRs. Granted, he's not worth 18$ million to most teams, but I think he is to the Mets. The Mets need a face to take over for Piazza. Beltran is that face. We have to overpay to get him, just like we'd have to overpay to get any big name FA. You think that if Johan Santana was a FA that he'd come to the Mets this year? Doubt it unless we gave him loads of cash. But with Beltran and Pedro, we may just start winning again which would in turn bring us players and we would no longer have to overpay.
