Very well said Jeff.

If no one had bitched about the sound at system, would they have replaced it? I doubt it.

maybe im wrong but i doubt it that people bitching on forums actually made owner (or ownres) do that.

is that really a case ????

You'd be surprised how much club management reads these boards. (and there are numerous ones for Toronto nightlife)

Word and shared sentiment get around pretty fast in this community.

Way too many people up in here just jump ship cause it's the 'cool' thing to do. Every club's got negative aspects, people need to chill out and realize that along with the positive, you gotta embrace some of the negative aspects as well.

I predict as soon as Republik opens, you're gonna get a lot of people saying that clubs the -- and the cycle of bashing will begin again.

the haters --- this here is about Toronto clubbing - and why TO rocks north america when it comes to cities to party in.,

Its one thing to bitch about stupid stuff. Its another to have real constructive critism like "the sound could be better" or "i think the bouncers could learn a few lessons in humanity".

Complaining about too many people or whistlers is pretty lame though.

When capacity of a club is neglected and peoples lives are put in jeopardy, the complaint is completely legit.

I love System - I have been going there since day one. I am happy to hear they have a new sound system. The only thing I wish they would do now is work on that front room. The decor/set up is not very inviting and quite cold...

except that im completely used to it. Never in my life have i gone to a club expecting anything less. Even the raves way back when were packed when they could pack it. I think compolaining about crowds is a relatively new thing in clubland.

You shouldn't have to get used to feeling unsafe in a club though, when the club can take measures to prevent that.

What you choose to stand for is up to you. I personally like to enjoy myself and be able to move when I go out.

Alpha Dynacord system installed in the mainroom

This I will have to see. The only problem with SystemS before was the fact my ears would bleed even with custom molded 25 db attenuators.

This should solve the issue, which is good because SystemS was always a fun place to party (esp. w/ the TA events).

they had club renovations made early last year, which to this day are still causing some problems (the wooden flooring in that side area of what used to be the 'VIP'/'Side Room')..

what was done here was replacing the actual audio system & speakers that's used in the mainroom with better equipment in hopes of offering a better experience.

personally, i'm not a huge audiophile when it comes to clubbing, i mean the sound does help a lot no doubt, but there are other factors that contribute far more greatly to my experience there. (ie. i've had tons of fun in smaller venues like Element and Nasa that offer almost nothing in terms of sound at all). i definately think that constructive criticism is needed in order to improve the venues in general, as long as it's done tastefully and without bias ..
