Thing is,Benny Benassi will probably be good,sad thing,its not 100% sure since i never heard him so yeah i have no idea,but its totally normal to be scared of the unknown. I see this like blackjack, my wager is 85$, now i never heard the guy and have no idea of what kind of people he attracks although im scared of the kind of people he attracts,but anyways. I wouldnt mind hearing him,but not at bal en blanc for the first time,i mean yeah sure if i had listenned to a couple of his sets or cd's and loved it,but now since i didnt,its risky. As for the crowd,well mixing the beefed up people from nautilus with the "clubbers" if ever he really does attract a lot of clubbers,i dont know,this sounds like it might get ugly (ugly as in it wont fit).
Till now, Preach/Marco G and Deep Dish would be the only reason i'd go.Would have loved a techno headliner honestly. Since i heard this year there might be a swirl and it might be techy,i might rather play it safe this year and forget the hot chix of the beb for once and go for broke on swirl.But if i go,Preach never NEVER DISSAPOINTS!add Marco G to that,and you got something solid right there! |

Louis, i am really sorry, really really really sorry, to say this, but i have to.........u n i had never been on bad terms n i hope it will stay this way...
when u come n say that if benny b will b at the BeB n that he will bring more ppl to the BeB n that hopefully more ppl will get into the EDM scene n that ppl will start buyin their music, then sorry man, but the only ppl profiting from this are the ppl organizing the event, aria, record productions and music sellers....
wot r the usual BeB ppl gaining from all that? nothin, on the contrary, ppl are losing:
1-more ppl r gonna b there n when i say this, i mean more young ppl who have absolutely no fkn clue who's playin n with just a tiny knowledge bout edm (if any)......the ppl that r gonna b in the first 4 rows chanting: TIIII-ESSSSS-TOOOOO when some other Dj is gonna b spinnin...lol
2-Less important names r in this year's lineup....
see, the usual BeB ppl rnt gettin anythin...anythin at all....
N wtf? u really think those tiesto/benny B lovers r gonna bother to stay at the party longer or to get there earlier? no way man...they're gonna go there when Tiestoooooooo or Benny B is gonna b spinnin then get the hell out of there......r they gonna become edm educated? Hell no man, all they're gonna know is that they listened to Tiesto/Benny B live n that's it.......that is fkn it......no1 is gonna get more educated....
Now, yes, i do know why Benny B was put in that lineup - to get more ppl to the BeB - but that only benefits the organizers....more ppl = more money......n not: more ppl = more edm educated ppl
n even if those ppl get into edm, well, only ppl benefitin from this r still the organizers cuz they're gonna b gettin more ppl next time somethin like this happens....a true fan wont b gettin out of this.....

Something about the hot chix !!! since when did BeB needed a DJ to bring them over ? with or without they're there !!!
Now with Benny B they're gonna be younger and hornier prolly that kind of chix!! :whip:
But usually when u do something big the year before u should always expect something bigger the year after, it got to a point where the hopes were very high till a day ago :whip:

like if EDM needed to get more known in MTL, in big event it's always packed, even psy-trance act like Infected Mushrooms pack Aria and this genre is not commercialized at all. "trop c'est comme pas assez", and I think we already hit the perfect level, if all the kids and clubbers start to like that it's going to be too much
the imagine of BeB was already a little bit commercial, I know a lot of people who never went in any afterhours or rave and went to BeB, my girlfriend, friends, parents, + others know this event and doesnt know a about EDM, and all of those people who already went to BeB never went to any aftershours or any other rave after that, they simply don't give a about the others DJs, people will go there to see Benny B and Tiesto, even if they liked the other DJs, they won't fall in love with them or hear the songs on the radio and they are too lazy to try to know more about EDM, they will download the from Mc Mario and not the stuff from Preach, first of all because getting the mp3 of Mc Mario is way easier to find then the songs of Preach, or they will go look in archambault and see there is no Preach CD and 10 Mc Mario CDs, so they will think "preach is not known, he sucks, mc mario is the guy I wanna hear". A lot of these clubbers are close-minded, not interested about the DJs world except big names and won't be more educated after BeB, they will have a great party and be happy, nothing more. I often try to bring people to big event or to Aria saying this DJ owns and kick ass and make big party, but they don't want to come, they are too lazy, doesnt want to pay 30-40$ and they only come if it was promoted over the radio or if its Tiesto and Benny B. |

I remember hearing an ad of Tiesto @ Cepsum on mix 96 that MC Mario did himself ! just before or after playing Love Comes Again..

But I have to say that I heard Benassi live an LaBoom.
His music was very cheesy, and a lot (way too much) of his ty productions and hearing Satisfaction in loop... stuff like that.. but he was putting a lot of energy into it, the crowd was nuts. This might help him for BeB, only if he doesn't play his crap.
My cuz from Ottawa likes him a lot and I was with him in his car once, listening to a Benassi liveset, and it wasn't crappy at all.
He was playing something near Electro/House...
But he didn't play like this at LaBoom
The only good song I heard from him at LaBoom was "Smack my Bitch up". |

Comme beaucoup parmis les TA's j'ai été un peu surpris et déçu par l'ajout de Benny à la final line up.
Je l'ai vu jouer déjà. g t a la boom la premiere fois qu'il est venu. C'etait bien...mais très club. C'est pour ca que j'ai eu cette premiere impression.
Le truc est que ce gars a su vraiment se diversifier. Et il peut vraiment faire bcp la crowd du BEB.
Et puis ce gars représente quand meme the Highest New Entry in the top 100 djs of djmag. DJMag:: Top 100 Charts
L'an passé il y était même pas et la il est arrivé 18ème....franchement faut le faire. Même si les critères du djmag sont pas toujours très clairs, c quand même une entrée en force dans le top 100.
Alors faisons lui confiance et jsuis sur qu'il va nous impressionner.
