Alright looks like I'm ther first one back so I'll start this baby off...
This was quite an interesting night for me...before heading down to the Guv I stopped by at a friend's b-day party literally 2 seconds away from the club. Parked at a public parking place and it seemed nice and abandoned so I decided not to pay since I'll only be there for about an hour and a half. So...I get back to my car and just as I was I see the F'ing guy sliding the ticket under my windshield whiper :whip: and if that wasn't enough - it wasn't a city parking lot so the ticket is $37.50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:whip: :whip: :whip:
Anyway, kinda pissed off - starting the night not on the right leg I headed down to the guv, parked, walked out of the car and ran into some old highschool friends - they took me with them on a guest list line so it was excellent. Then we get to the tickey booth and it says $20. So I ask the girl there - "isn't it 15 before 11:30" (as i saw on the flyer) - she came up with the excuse that 15 is only for a reduced list...so anyway - BS if you ask me but 5 bucks...alright watever - meanwhile i'm thinking this night is turning rather expensive lol.
In any case we got into the Kool Haus at about 10:30 and there was hardly anyone there. Deko-ze was playing a good intro slowly bringing up the beats. I met this really nice bartender and we ended up talking for a bit since there was no one there yet so that was really nice. Ended up at the main room at about 11:15 and saw MO dropping some CRAZY DIRTY DIRTY stuff. However there were about 2 or 3 songs that drove me a little crazy cause I thought my ear drums were going to explode lol...other than that - rather unusual but very solid set. Then at about 1:30 I went to the "TA meetup" that nobody showed up to except time to burn and 2 other guys lol - so we decided to head back to the Kool Haus. Meanwhile I run into 3 girlfriends of mine who are just partying at the drink and etc. So I said "let's go to the KH" and they said sure - BUT - you have to pass through the damn hip hop room! :wtf: so one of them just GRABS me in the hip hop room and starts GRINDING the living hell out of me...:wtf: so that was great - now i was stuck in the hip hop room lol. Anyway I rescued myself from that torture after about 10 minutes and ended up at KH where Dave Ralph was playing Starkid - Crayons whihc just blew me away, and his whole entire set after that was AMAZING! :crazy:
Then Infected Mushroom came on. I'm not really a big IM fan but I decided to stick around and listen anyway. The music was OK, the guys are really talented no doubt, but the crowd totally pissed me off. I thought maybe I'll go meet some fellow Israelis, instead I just ran away from there. It was honestly disgusting (for a lack of a better word) - the whole jumping on stage with a million flags bull just drove me crazy. I swear half of the people that were there were just there for no other reason than being on the bandwagon. And not to mention many were yelling "in-fec-ted...in-fec-ted" during Dave Ralphs set so I made sure to make it over to the front of the stage and let Dave know how ing awesome his set is because all these inconsiderate rude idiots were just pissing me off. Anyway - needless to say I didn't stay for the whole infected set - was dying to see scumfrog so I headed back to the Guv.
Mark was just finishing up his set - finally ran into some TAs and the party was on there for sure. Scumfrog came on (I finally catch him live) - did anyone notice he looks like Harry Connick Jr? :stongue: :crazy: :tongue3 His set was rockin'! Loved it - haven't heard really good stuff like that in a while. I also loved that little "scumfroooogggg....scumfroooogggg" that was inserted into some of the tracks hehe...nice touch. Scumfrog was deffinitely ripping the place apart.
At around 4 we headed back into the KH to see Dumonde - I didn't know for sure what to expect from them but they just took my already dead feet and totally destroyed them. Crazy set...amazing energy.....amazing guys. They were given shampagne, and instead of drinking it themselves they gave out cups to some ppl near the stage and one of the guys just went around and started giving everyone shampagne, and for those with no cups literally pouring it into their mouths....wild! That tall slim blonde dancer by the way....oh YUMMY YUMMY :crazy: :eyespop: :toothless It was awesome to run into DJ Hordash there too he was dancing like mad - great energy.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to say bye to everyone when I left.
Overall a pretty good night out - not the best for sure but I really had a great time - I just wish I could have seen/heard more of scumfrog. :thepirate Hopefully next time...and now I'm dead...good night! |

well just got home here, long drive back to barrie let me tell you.
I thought that was a killer party. Dave Ralph started the night as good as he could. Was loving Age of Love and Breeder The Chain, wasn't all about his remix of Blue Monday, didn't really go anywhere. But an up tempo set for sure.
I didn't think IM was as good as the last time they were here, very industrial and expermental. Wasn't all about the live vocals either. There were some great tunes don't get my wrong but overall i was kinda of bored with it. So not enjoying IM I made my through that oragne room to hear some scumfrog which i have to say horrible at the start but he picked it up like true scumfrog fashion, nice driving house.
Then Dumonde came and they never disappointed, pumping the whole way. I have never seen a bad set from these guys. Their the two nicest lads too.
Lastly it was great to see all the TA's out especially

First off I would just like to say how much of a pleasure it was to meet a new bunch of TA's and kick it with all the rest!
Dave Ralph was pretty generic, not horrible, but definately didn't get me up and at 'em. Infected was not bad, they were much better last January (Ultra Spin 4 I believe). Dumonde was alright as well, they put out a lot of energy, but the choonage was lacking IMHO. Headed over to the guv to catch the rest of Scumfrog's set around 5AM, and was treated to some sublime sounds. The portion of his set that I caught was a bit more experimental than typical Scumfrog, but I enjoyed it none-the-less. Headed out around 6:45 and hit up the Yonge bus with Chris (Endlesswave) good times :p
I can't wait to see the pics! My my those dancers were hott :D |

wow fun night.. and i didnt spend much money .. good to see the whole crew again.. had a blast busting up the dancefloor with goodnet, christina, Az and kurfew :D

I agree 100% with you dood. I'm astonished at their extremely rude behavior. Definitely not the regular crowd. Boy am I glad that I'm not a DJ, with my quick temper and all, I would have stopped spinning and bitch-slapped those morons in the front row. Dave was playing his heart out and here they were jumping around like freaks to his music and screaming IM. Like WTF!! :whip:
Anywayz, Dave's set was alright. My first time seeing him and he didn't really do it for me. Then IM comes on and I'm hoping to give that dance floor a good beating but they just didn't cut it this time. Out of all the times I've seen them this is prolly the worst. Saving grace of the night was DuMonde. What a class act. Much respect goes out to these guys. KH wasn't packed at all, plenty of room to bust a move. I was a happy camper. So after they're done I head over to guv for the remainder of the frog's set. Took a while to get into the groove. His set wasn't as good as when I first saw him at Systems last year or was it the year before?? Not a bad night overall but not one of my favorite times at guv. Hopefully decadence will be much better. I  Carl. :) Please don’t cancel again. /me gets on boths knees and prays to the good Lord even though he knows it'll be good Friday and he's not supposed to be partying. LOL!
It was nice meeting you Spam and I think I met you whitey (W..something anyway.) Good seeing the regulars out and about. Thanks a million John for the pass. "18, not 8!!!" :stongue:
btw, I bought the Matrix ultimate collection at bestbuy yesterday. TEN DVDS!!! Guess how I'm gonna be spending the rest of this day. :toothless

overall, a good night.... got there around 1am and IM came on sson enough..they played good but WHATS UP WITH THE FLAG WAVING??? Im suprised the security were so laxed..
Dumonde kicked ASS!! met some TAs. KoolH wasnt packed at all and even if it was I didnt notice

naturally by the time we got in, it was 12:05 and $20, lol...typical. Didn't care for the curtain crap in KH...sure it made it feel more "intimate" but that just gets in the way, lol.
Dave Ralph...I agree with everyone...decent stuff, but didn't blow my mind...we caught a good chunk of Mark's set in Guv instead...fun, as usual...he never disappoints.
Infected Mushroom F**KING ROCKED!!!! My third time hearing them live and this was by far the best. AWESOME set that had me exhausted by the time they were done...these guys are brilliant...the vocals near the end were pretty cool too. Anyone who hasn't heard these guys NEEDS to give them a shot...even people who "don't like psy-trance" loved this set.
Dumonde...just as they did on Halloween at the Docks, they threw down a great set...such nice guys, they always seem to be having a great time behind the decks, really interacting with the crowd...I hope they continue to come back on a regular basis.
Didn't catch even a moment of Scumfrog, which is awful because he rocks, but friends who did said he was great.
Graham, you're always fun (missed you all night nat!?!)...try not to have a big smile on your face with him tearing up the dancefloor :D Nice to see Tordan...it had been a while...and Diginut...met a few people for the first tiem too...Graham (highroller), at last, fellow ta stoner :P, and Serge (trancemotion?)...I'm forgetting a couple of names too. I'm looking forward to the summer when chillin' on the patio and chatting to you guys is easier than trying to shout over the music :D
the crew, as usual, always makes the night...Dan, Jay, Bryan, Cedric, Marc, Chris...good times ;)
some people shouldn't drive after partying...someone in an SUV was *trying* to very slowly turn and squeeze around a cab right outside KH...*crunch*...didn't quite make it and will be shopping for a new bumper I'm sure!
