Exactly.

If you were born in Serbia then you're Serbian, not Canadian. We're just talking about the people who have never even been to visit these other countries, let alone been born there. So Xavier, no need to assume that we're referring to you with those comments.

WITHOUT arguing about this, PLEASE respect me when i say:
I'm born in Kitchener, raised in Windsor, and LOVE Canada,
but I'm definitely 100% Croatian. No ifs, ands, buts about it.
Where ur born is JUST and ONLY that: where ur born.
Its not who u are. My BLOOD, my GENES, my HEART and SOUL are Croatian.
Nothing u say can change that:D

There's nothing TO explain. It's a load of crap to claim nationality to a place you weren't born or raised in. Blood? Heart? Hell, you can transplant those, they're not unique. Soul? It's imaginary, or at best symbolic. Genes? Your parents had genes too, but you're obviously willing to define THEIR nationality on where THEY LIVED. Either you base background on genetics or you base it on where a person was raised, you can't just base it on whichever one happens to make you feel important at any given moment.

That is the reason why I always say that the "multicultural" idea in Canada has gone way too far, because you don't see that nonsense anywhere else.

Nobody should be proud of the fact that they're living in a foreign country and haven't fully integrated with its culture. That's not independence, it's smugness. Up with the melting pot, down with this ridiculous mishmash we call a "mosaic".
