Airbase, you are totally correct about new modules
this maximizer and master suite is too good to be true
it will take me another year or so just to take my knowledge of these new modules to perfection
i mean how cool is that, when program creates the right eq for ya, making it sound better, even noobs can master their tracks just by clicking on a few buttons, it does it for them automatically... |

This is what Reason originally should have been like! Better sequencer, an awesome file browser, the Combinator can make so wicked things I'm having a hard time to understand why no one thought of this earlier!
The master suite is great as well, but just a small extra to the rest of the new features!

I'm just wondering if you're having any problems with Reason 3? Because when I scroll the rack or the sequencer my CPU usage goes up to 100% and it starts lagging alot. I know we share the same GFX setup (one Radeon 9700 PRO AGP, one Radeon 9200 PRO PCI) and me and a bunch of other people have this problem, and it looks like a common factor is that we're running the 9200.

Anyhoo the Combinator is wicked cool. |

well i have 2.4 ghz 1 gig of ram, 9200 ati 128 megs
umm when i scroll, yes it lags quite a bit, but my cpu meter is fine
i guess its just compabilitiy of video card with new interface, cuz it changed quite a bit.
well dunno, i'll see whats up with the news and , maybe they'll say how to fix it or something, in the main time i'll play with my video card configurations |

TranceMasterUk, hmmm dunno whether you woke up with a nail in your ass this morning, but ummm, yes i bought it...
now how you gonna act? |

No, I havent noticed any cpu hogging scroll issues. On the other hand, I dont use the 9200-card anymore. I only have a 5600-card with dual outputs right now. The third montior is hooked to the other computer and synced with the first computer using Synergy (works great!).
So maybe its that PCI-card after all! |

I was excited, at first, for the release of Reason.
I have now been using Reason for about 2 years and am now utterly dissapointed.
Everyone knows Reason has "sound quality" issues. I was expecting an improvement with the introduction of the M-Class mastering suite.
Instead of beefing up the Reason sound. It has actually made it crackly and sketchy. It now sounds pretty ty when you use those plug-ins to compress/expand or widen a tracks stereo feild (which sounds amazing if it didn't sound ty). It just plain sounds like . It bogs down more with the new plugs' too. GG Propellerhead's programmers.
It's actually no big deal really. I'm going to be doing the reverb/compression/limiting/equalization stage of making my tracks in ProTools (which I own duh) now. The plug-ins you can "borrow" and use are MUCH better than anything Reason has to offer.
And in the end it is really not worth the half a grand you have to pay for it. It is not that major of an update and they should have spent more time working on the new suite of plugins.
Some people were complaining of lag. I have not gotten a shred of lag and Reason barely eats at my CPU. It is a problem with the programming, not you're computer I'm pretty sure.
I'm running 1gb of pc3200 ram, and 3.6ghz P4E prescott.... and my system runs quite cool.
I'm pretty freaking dissapointed.
EDIT: and oh yea, piracy issues aside, who cares! Can we talk about just the program now ktnx? |
