Gabriel and Dresden, new "Sasha and Digweed"?
View this Thread in Original format

I'm a bit bored and I was thinking about this comparison, I know at the moment Gabriel and Dresden cant be called better or more important for trance history than Sasha and Digweed were in the past (99/2000), talking about various aspects like: mixes, skills, productions and mind about the current music they are involved, but can you see any relations between both duos'?

Some points I can notice:
- they changed the trance scene
- their productions got much credit for innovation

Maybe a good thread to start a healthy discussion...

Sasha and Digweed will always be Sasha and Digweed. There will never be a new Sasha and Digweed. I think their sound is unique, timeless and unmatchable, especially during Twilo.
And i dont think G&D will ever come close to Sasha and Diggers when it comes to mixing, skill, track selection, and producing. Theyre not even in the same tier.

I think Gabriel and Dresden have great production and remixing skills, definately in the same tier with Sasha and Digweed. As far as Mixing and DJing they probably will never reach the level of Sasha and Digweed, but I hope they try!

No. None. Both duos have "and" between their names. They play vaguely related genres of dance music. That's about it.

And Gabriel and Dresden aren't secret lovers. Oh, oops, did I say that out loud?

Is this a joke? Is Dave Dresden cracked out in flophouse somewhere writing this crap?

The thing that sets Sasha and Digweed apart from everyone else is their incredible DJ sets.

As far as I can see, Gabriel and Dresden are at best, mediocre Djs. They may produce great tracks, but it ends there. Responses to their DJ sets are lukewarm. I see their DJing in the same way as I see BT's.

If it was April 1st, I could understand this post.. SERIOUSLY??

I wont say they are Beavis and Butthead, nor would i say that they are the new Sasha and Digweed. However, they are very good, innovative, and they bring alot to the dance scene. However they are fairly new compared to the hold that S&D has on the dance scene. Only time will tell if G&D will rise to what Sasha and Digweed has proved themselves to be; Gods Of EDM.

They may be pretty good for the most part, but I've yet to see a G&D set as spectacular as a Sasha & Diggers set.

I <3 G&D for sure but only time well tell how much they can do for our scene.

Sasha and Digweed have done alot and its to the point where ppl who know nothing about trance know about sasha and digweed.

Gabriel and Dresden are a great duo and at times I think there a bit underrated.
