Of course, wherever I am, the fun is great, but could be better.
As I decided on my own important reasons to not goto this event, and because Ferry disappointed me last time he was here... It turns out he would have made me quite happy this tiem around... lots of fancy uplifting tunes.... including the ones I've been dying to hear in a club... dammit why can't I be in 2 places at once!!!!.... or more so.... why didn't I goto guv at 330am when I was downtown instead of taking the ramp onto the gradiner!!!!! GAAAAH!!!!

Thanks to everyone for all the great pics first of all!
As for my night, amazing time had all night long. Arrived at about 1115pm, didn't have much of a lineup for coat check either.
Found a few of my buddy's and headed for the dance floor. I had never seen Luke Chable or Dave Seaman so seeing both was a real treat for me! Lots of energy and a get vibe from everyone in the KH. :)
Headed over to guv around 2am just to see what the setup and crowd was like before Ferry came on and it was already starting to get nice and full by then. By the time Ferry was up.. you couldn't even move any more, but that was almost to be expected! Ferry played an amazing set as always, definitely better then the last time I saw him at guv.
Good to see you again starsearcher, rj, chanoa and gamma.. and nice to meet some new TA's out there as well!
that is it for this review... I need sleep now! |

really good night for sure. stayed in the koolhaus most of the night. lots of room to breathe, not overly hot, and the music was top notch.
- ADDY is always a great opener to the night. he played really good techy house with alot of really fat basslines. i am actually surpised that he banged it out that early. works for me.:)
- LUKE CHABLE had a very good set. i was expecting a litte more breaks. i guess its kind of hard to play those tunes after the king of CZ played his bangin house. dont really remember any of the tunes he played, busy having fun with friends.
- DAVE SEAMAN one of the prog pioneers, did not disappoint at all. he played the right tunes at the right time. he had really good programming, and his mixing was first rate. 2 hours of seaman was not enough. next time he must play longer!
- GRAYAREA was the highlight of the night for me. i have been a fan for a couple of years and couldn't wait for them to take the stage. i was in shocked to see how hard they rocked it out. there performance was like none other that i have seen. a punk rock attitude + hard and chunky house and breaks = the best live P.A i have seen. JOHN - you would have in loved these guys.
after the grayarea performance, the djs i came to see were done. had a good night, no major problems except for this one drunk guy that was harassing some of the t.a's. some people should learn how to control them selves in public.
easily one of the best nights i have had in the koolhaus. |

I'll try and keep this short.
Had an awesome time.
Spent the day in Niagara and then headed straight to the KH, so I was kinda tired to begin with. But somehow I managed to stay until 6:30. I think it had something to do with being surrounded by great friends for most of the night. :)
Out of all the talent brought in, I was there to hear mainly Luke Chable because I heard great things about his productions. I really enjoyed his set, even though it was only an hour long.
I also ventured into the Drink a couple of times where Choo Choo and Nunez were spinning. Awesome stuff from both of them as well (makes me want to go to Boa soon). It was also the first time ever that I spent any significant length of time in that room. :happy2: That room is kinda small... but I really like the fact that the DJ booth is RIGHT THERE.
Ferry was great, as usual. But i've never liked the fact that he always drops breaks into his sets. The Guv was a sauna. You could feel the heat as soon as you entered the room.
Enough can't be said about the TA's. You guys and gals are awesome!!! It was GREAT seeing all the usuals, plus some for the first time. ;) Without all of you, this party just wouldn't be the same.
See you all later this week.

Spent pretty much the whole night in the Guv. Mark Oliver was ok, i was hoping for some dirty techno, but he played some slower stuff and ended off with trance. I was happy to hear him play Hydra -affinity and Katana - In silence =)
As for ferry, I can only rate him for the time i was there, which was the first 2.5 hours of his set. It was mediocre at best. There was about a half hour strach when it was really good, but there was lots of filler. From the other replies, it looks like he saved the good stuff till the very end. Loved it when he played Purple Haze - Adrenaline, sikk track. Both him and armin, were a little dissapointing this time around. They're great Djs, but they could have been much better.
Very busy in the guv too, im still trying to figure out why they didnt put ferry in the KH. |

Kind of pissed that there wasn't any dancing room in the Guv until 5:30!! Even then, I noticed that I was surrounded by zombies.
Ending the party with Out of the Blue was fantastic.
Not dissapointed with Ferry at all. |

Well to start off i have to say that i just got in from an exam that started at 8;30 and i can't believe that i made it there and actually did well..(pure thanks go to those crazy ppl at Red Bull for creating my life saver)
as for the review...
this party was absolutly amazing... Ferry was off the rocket as usual and Chable held it down like a fiend in the KH...
got there around 11;30 and got to hear all of Chable which was intensly funky and got me hella pumped for Ferry.. went into the Guv around ten after 2.. and made it in there pretty quick which was a pleasent surprise, so anyways.. walked into the Guv and immediately lost 30 lbs due to the heat... my friend and i made our way around the guv at least 3 times before finding a spot in front of the side stage which we held down like Fort Knox that was a)relatively spacious ( by Guv terms..which basically means gave us enough room to use glow sticks)and b) had air around it that was actually breathable..
i have no beef with the Guv atmosphere though..especially on a night with a DJ like Ferry..i find i can get over the heat and thick hard to breath air pretty quickly
the whole time in the Guv i didn't sit once... it just coulnd't happen..Ferry played a non-stop party and i wasn't about to miss one track of it... i was so happy to hear all the bombs he dropped..especially It's Time which was the track i had been looking forward to hearing all week...
once the Guv started to clear out things just got insane...breathing was easy again and there was a nice draft coming in from the patio which gave me even more energy to finish off the night..
all in all i have to say this event was truely amazing and a great way to kick off this hectic finals week with a total de-stressor.. and despite the fact that my friends and i lost over $250 collectively in the span of 1 night..i had an amazing AMAZING time...
it was nice to meet some of you TAs..which i remember meeting some just not any specifics.. except for Jem because i remember you were holding 2 cans of something in the same hand every time i saw you
can't wait too see you all again for the next party i make it up to TO for! Good luck on finals kids!! |
