well lets see, just got home because im weak and my knees suck. Same old excuses, but hey, at least im consistent.
I ventured into the guv twice. Both times I left in under 5 minutes. I cant stand that POS room. ->so my review will be KH based, I wont even mention the guv.
Also since I had a good time tonight, I want to end my review on a positive note, so ill do my piece of bitching here. If you dont want to read drama and stuff, skip down the the rows of stars below. Now envision this.
Youre standing at the end of the crowd minding your own buisness grooving to the music in your own little world. Out of nowhere you feel this kick to your groin. Somebody just kicked you in the nuts. FOR NO ING REASON. Then after this guy kicked you in the nuts he wants to shake your hand and pretend its all cool. This conversation or something very similar ensues(V=victim, A=):
V: off!
A:cmon man
V:dude you just kicked me in the nuts, I out to knock you out!
A:yea, but you wont
V:and why is that?
A:because IM ** ** *** *** (remain nameless for now)
I walked away from him, remembering that he has a pattern of alcohol abuse and gets drunk and does stupid . Later he comes back up to me and is yelling at me becuase I wont shake his hand or something. Im not paying attention to him, and just shove my ear plugs in further. Then he starts yelling YES OR NO, YES OR NO. I try to walk away, he grabs my shirt and says "answer me now, yes or no?" I ask him what the question is, he says "do you want to be my enemy or not" There was some other stuff in there, but I coudnt make out the drunken mumblings.
Since hes still drunk I say no I dont want to be his enemy, and he says "good, you just saved your life, Ive got friends" ahh yes, threats to my life. What harsh words. I brush drunken mcgee off again and leave. Strangely he pinches me in the tricep, I dont know what for. He also said some highly inappropriate things to some other TAs, which drove them to tears(for their sake Im leaving their name out of this entirely, I hope everybody else does too) About 30 minutes later I got great news, I didnt quite hear the details, but they dont matter. The got UNITYd and was bounced from the club. good riddance. Others can fill in details if they care to.
And now the reveal...who is this who I absolutely hate now.
none other than DJ EL KAY DEE. Liam, youre a piece of trash, and if it werent for me needing to point out how much of a piece of trash you are, it wouldnt have been worth the 5 minutes it took me to type this up.
-to lkd-Dude, you acted like a complete tool tonight. You embarassed yourself so badly, well it is funny. I certainly know I wont be accepting an appology even if you do offer it. You kicked me in the nuts for no ing reason, then threatened my life. If I ever see you outside a club, Im gonna smoke you. you hit me once, its all ill do back. Maybe you wont know its coming like when you kicked me, but hey...cant say I didnt warn you. Pair this with your drunken slapping of eric a while back, and I think youve got a problem with booze. Get help before you start with somebody less understanding than me. Youre a real piece of work, and I almost wish I had laid you out tonight when I had the chance.

ON WITH THE HAPPY REVIEW!
Arrived around 11:30, got in no prob. Long line, but it moved quickly. No coat check issues, off to a blazing start. Curtains on the north side made the room smaller, which is good, KH wasnt that packed all night. comfy at its peak, excessively roomy near 4.
Didnt catch too much Addy, but man his last 4-5 songs were just tearing it up. He alas, he must give way for Luke Chable. Very impressed. dont know a damn thing he played. I wasnt really paying attention, just having fun. Chable gets 8/10
I was having so much fun I didnt even notice that Dave Seaman had taken to the decks. He ing rocked. wow. That is the prog I love. Tune of the night for me, and likely many other Underworld-Two Months off *dont know what remix, but it was good* I havent heard this song in ages, and it was certainly nice to hear. I can still hear it-you bring light in, you bring light in....-..TUNE! Also played a remix of Gwen Stefani-Take a chance..mmmm thats it for my IDs I think. Seaman gets 10/10. Great. Had me moving and grooving all night.
Grayarea..hmm. I was anticipating them alot. Really let down. Weak set. Horrible sound, from what sounded decent for a KH system for previous DJs, bad EQ, mic volume was wrong and it just wasnt going well for them. I couldnt hear anything but thudding bass. Didnt hear any of the lyrics, and really was let down by it. But I think it was technical difficulties, not performance related. So ill reserve judgement until I hear them a 2nd time. No score for them.
Then I left, saw none of josh gabriel.
I just had a great time dancing with all the other TAs. Seeing the old schoolers Goodnet and NRG2Nfinit, along with the ever infamous Vividboy, and our international guests from across the pond Coup (sorry, I didnt meet jamie, even tho I knew he was in the general area, I missed him) Met a few new(to me) TAs, who surprise surprise I dont remember. I r teh suck.
I had a great fun night. Nothing amazing, just solid all through it.. FUN TIMES! YEEHAW!
so big props to everybody minus one |

Fun night. Only my second time at the Guv. Got there at about 11 and was on the floor by about 10 after. Was going back and forth between the KH and the Guv all night.
Luke Chable was the first act I was looking foreward too, he was better than the rumours I had heard about him. Then came Dave Seamen who ing rocked the place. I then ventured to see Ferry for a bit and boy does he have a following here, it doesn't take all that much for a DJ like him to get a crowd moving. Headed back to watch Grayarea for a bit and then left before coatcheck got too hectic.
All in all a fun night although I'm disappointed that I missed Josh's set since my bro and his girlfriend were tired. Also very disappointed that Junkie XL canceled. Good night all in all though, I probably saw half the TA crew there and didn't even notice it :D, although I only think I'd recognize Endlesswave. |

It was a good night; just sorry to hear about j_spot's issue with another TA. :(
Unfortunately I missed the first part of Ferry's set due to some over crowding issues in the Guv. Security was not letting anyone in at around 2:45am claiming capacity issues. Went back to the KH and danced for a bit, then ended up getting into the Guv around 3:30am. Ferry is always amazing, and was pumping out some uber tracks from Right of Way. Love that train whistle man!
Shoutouts to all the TAs that were there, and got to meet some new ones as well.
I'm pretty worn out right now... All I had to keep me going was a shot of tequila and a Redbull; so a pretty sober night for me. It's prolly for the best though as I'm visiting the grandparents for dinner tonight, and really would rather not have to explain why I'm wearing my dark sunglass' at the table. :haha:
Anyway, hope everyone had a great time!
g'night! |

Got to the club early, around 10pm. There was a fair lineup for KH, but since I was on the guestlist, headed towards that area. At the time, only Starsearcher was there. So we chatted for a bit and were let in around 10:15 or so...
KH setup was interesting, heh...the TA meetup spot was closed. I found the lighting to be really good this time in the KH. Anyways, as the night progressed, met up with my buddy and his wife, then his cousin and then a bunch of TAs.
Addy, Chable and Seaman all played very well. Had to wait around 20 mins in a line to get into the Guv at around 2:45am. To say that the Guv was packed, would be an understatement. So I went back to catch some of Grayarea. The sound was pretty crappy, but oh well. Caught some of Gabriel, but decided to go to the Guv as KH was quite empty and just didn't have the vibe I was looking for.
Took awhile before I had any room to move in the Guv. Ferry was playing good tunes, as always. A great way to end the night. Left around 5:15.
It was interesting, some guy came up to me and Starsearcher when we were near the bar and the dude swore that we were Grayarea. He had a printout with their pics and was looking at us and the sheet for like 2 minutes.
A shoutout to all the TAs I partied with tonight, too many to name and I don't wont to forget to mention anyone, you all know who you are :) |

Wow, what can I say?
I don't usually post reviews but this party is really worth reviewing. Now I know why it's called Kool House, coz its so freakin cool. Didn't bother going to the main room. I knew it was gonna be packed. Kool House is where it was at.
The crowd - Perfect
Vibe - Perfect
Tunes - Perfect
Temperature - Perfect
Overall: uber sweetness
Unfortunately I didn't get to see Chable because of work. Got out at 1 am. and arrived at The Guv at around 1:30. The line wasn't too bad but the entrance switch was a bitch. All ppl running from KH to The Guv. One funny sight.
When we got inside, Seman was already laying down some solid tunes. Got me really going. When Greyarea came on - they came on hard. I was really enjoying it but after a while it was kinda deafening. Nontheless I think they did a great job. Crowd interaction was wicked.
Josh Gabriel also gave our money's worth. I can't really say nothing bad about this night. It was just mint. I even enjoyed that ATRC track :eyes: But it was Brad Copeland who did it for me the most. I take back everything I said about his mixing abilities. That guy is THE MAN.
I can't believe I lasted this long on such little amount of sleep. We left Kool House sometime after 7.
Jen, sorry for not making it to The Zone but I really needed to catch some sleep. I hope you guys are tearing it up over there ;)
Ray and Marg: thank you so much. You guys rock!
Peter: always a pleasure partying with you. Again, Happy Birthday bro.
Graham: good to see ya again buddy.
Liam: nice going .
It looks like it's gonna be a beautiful day. Have to get some rest.
Off to bad.
Cheers |
