Birmingham signed Mikael Forsell from Chelski. They may be taking a risk but oh well.
Everton still needs to find a decent striker, if they're going to have a chance in Europe. |

very suprising, hes very inexperienced. Neimi is at 2mil is a much better buy imo. I hear he wants to go to Celtic though. |

| It's strongly rumoured here that Newcastle have won the race to sign Scott Parker from Chelsea. Apparently Newcastle have agreed a 6M fee for him and he has agreed personal terms. The deal should be finalised and announced when Peter Kenyon returns from Milan. So I expect this one to be announced by early next week. Not 100% certain yet though. |

Bellamy, meanwhile, looks certain to leave The Magpies after a very public falling out with Toon boss Graeme Souness, having finished the last campaign with Old Firm giants Celtic.
The Wales international has already attracted the interest of Aston Villa and Birmingham City while new Celtic boss Gordon Strachan is keen to keep Bellamy at Parkhead next term. |

why would city need robert too when they've already signed Musampa on for another season. |

Souness has taken us down a level and clubs like Bolton are now our rivals whether we like to say it or not. If we sell Robert to Bolton we are strengthening a rival and weakening ourselves, all for the pathetic sum of 1M.
Souness is taking Newcastle down a very rocky road. |

i said that the day he took over, and i still stand by it, I don't rate him as a motivator, as a man manager or anything. I know you have maybe 2-3x our fan base, but as you say we're competing for the same players as a rule now, and no matter what ppl like turner & luke terry say to me, I think you missed Speed last season. |

I'm not sure about the Speed thing, some of our fans would agree with you. His final season for us he was quite poor although he's always been a good leader and that is something we have missed. I think Bolton's style suits him more the way they pack the midfield. His lack of pace isn't exposed as much and there is always a player nearby to play the short pass to. In Newcastle's attacking 4-4-2 system with plenty of width and pace under Bobby Robson, Speed was part of one of the best midfield's in the country for a couple of seasons but in his final season his lack of pace was found out time and time again and his passing just wasn't up to it. I also think Bobby made a mistake playing him just about every game of that season, he was definitely burnt out. A clever signing by Allardyce though, and Robert could be an extremely clever signing.
The tragedy is that Robert, Bellamy and Kluivert all wanted to stay with Newcastle. How much is it going to cost to replace them? Robert is one of the most skillful players in the Premiership but the trick is getting consistency out of him. Souness told him to work hard and defend, but he is an attacking player and when Robert did as he was told he was told and worked hard in our own half he was useless to us! He needs to be playing up the wing, you don't see Robert Pires trodding on Ashley Cole's toes at left back. Allardyce will probably have the sense to see this and give him a bit more freedom up front. The only problem with Bolton though is their aeriel balls, Robert is not going to be winning balls in the air and holding the ball up, you need to get the ball to his feet. Diouf has looked decent for Bolton though so I think Robert will do well. I can see him coming back to haunt us, last year Robert completely destroyed Carr at right back for Tottenham, scoring two goals and assisting two more as we hammered them 4-0.
Everyone always knew Souness would be a failure from day one. We knew he would fall out with our best players and sell them at cut price, but I wasn't expecting him to ruin us so quickly! Some of the quotes he has come out with are unbelievable, the man doesn't believe in tactics, he doesn't believe in wingers either saying he wanted 'working wide players'. He demonstrated his man management skills when he said "I don't want a team full of James Milners"! Great way to shatter of the hopes of one of the club's bright young talents. When we were knocked out of both cups he basically blamed it on the youngsters we had out.
Souness is going to be selling about half of our first team players all at cut-price. Souness' days are numbers and he knows it, these are desperate measures by a man with little to lose - if it all goes up he will walk away from us and not give a . We are becoming a charity like Leeds were, except Leeds were about 80M in debt whereas Newcastle are financially sound!
Many Newcastle fans have talked about not renewing their season ticket but while they talk a good fight it's expected about 95% of them will have renewed by the deadline tommorow. It's a real shame that we want to support the club but know that the chairman is laughing his head off at us, and most people are far too proud to boycott the games the way tens of thousands of Marseille fans did last season. |
