If Jose is as smart as he thinks he is, allowing Gallas to leave will be a huge mistake as he's a proven defender at all levels of the game and has been a Chelsea player for over 5 seasons and so is established to the pace and rigor of EPL football. |
its not a question of allowing, jose doesnt have a choice in the matter really. Unless he plays him a CB ahead of ricardo which i wont happen.

Now genius...what do you have, besides the gossip mill to substantiate your claim that Gallas is leaving ? Yeah, he's unhappy at being used as a LB. But has he come out and asked for a transfer ? Pull the out of your ass and think about it for a second. Chelsea are champions, and probably one of the richest clubs in the world right now. If you think Gallas is leaving just because he doesn't want to play on the left side -- then you're even dumber then I thought. |
Chelsea being champions means . MOst major european side would want to sign him. He wont stay at chelsea as a sub because they are champions
The link is fairly clear, he wont play at left back. I dont think he will play at RB either.

Actually, Jose does have a choice in the matter. Gallas is under contract to play for Chelsea. The contract doesn't say which position he plays at, that's the coaches decision. Gallas has been FORCED to play at LB due to injuries. I'm sure Jose will talk to him about his future at the club over the summer and outline what his plan for using him along with the other three CB's is going to be.
The story has been blown out of proportion because Gallas feels he is more productive in the centre then at left back, which is true. He lacks the attacking instincts that a left back playing at Chelsea needs. He's also not a true left footed player, which makes crossing and overlapping runs more difficult. I'm sure most of his comments are a result of frustration, not because he wants to leave Chelsea.
I read that story a few weeks back...and i think more then anything else it was meant as a warning shot to Jose that Gallas was not going to play the role of LB forever. Since then, Jose has already stated that Chelsea need a LB...so i doubt you will see Gallas in that position next season. Personally, i think he will still play CB, and rotate with Carrvalho. The reason is simple...while both players are excellent. I don't think there is much that seperates them in terms of class. I don't expect the 'expert' portuguese contingent on this board to agree...but if you're an objective fan, you'll know what i mean. ;) |

Oh yeah ? Then tell me why Carlo Cudacini in all likely hood is going to sign a long term contract despite the fact that he's only played a handful of games for Chelsea this year. Carlo is a also a world class player who is being sought after by at least two major EPL teams...from the looks of it, he's fairly happy warming the Chelski bench. Maybe....and i might be reaching here...but here goes...
Maybe...Money might have something to do with why Chelsea are able to attract top quality talent and keep them happy on the bench.
I'm not saying that will happen with Gallas, but if you honestly think that being in a Championship winning side which is only going to get stronger next year doesn't mean then buddy... you don't really understand what it means to be a part of a something special. Gallas has been at Chelsea for a few seasons now. He's settled. He's made sacrifices for the team and is respected by the fans and coach alike. To put it bluntly...jose and Chelsea would have to be foolish to let him just leave, and I just don't see that happening. |

ah come on, you dont actually believe that? Contracts mean nothing these days, if a player wants out he is gone. Jose wont want a player who isnt happy, its too disruptive. If gallas isnt getting the majoirty of games at CB he is gone, that why i think hes leaving in the summer.

I am not saying he wants to leave chelsea, if jose tells him he will be 2nd choice centre back along with tryy he will stay. But i dont believe jose will tell him that. Ricardo will be 2nd choice, and gallas wont play bench warmer.

They had already decided on a left back at christmas before gallas bridge got his injury. He cant rotate them often enough i feel to please galls. He cant rotate them every game, as this isnt good for the team. Gallas wont like to be rotated every match either. As i said he could start at CB for most top european sides. it quite clear that what he wants, to play regular football at CB. Unless jose gurantees that, which i dont think he will, he will leave.

Clearly carlo is happy with warming the benuch, buts its obvious gallas isnt. Hes not happy at playing in other positions apart from CB. Money isnt everything to some players, and at a top club like barca he will probaly get paid the same.

they would have to be foolish, but its not up to them in the end. |

i think thats rubbish ... emerson has only just come to juventus and is playing well as well as being on the verge of winning the scudetto given that he has joined them this season it seems unlikely hel go .. however madrid do need a player of his caliber to fill up the hole left by makelele so maybe theyl offer him a higher salary than juventus would be willing to shell out for his services
as far as cristiano ronaldo goes ....going to madrid at this point of time would not suit him because hes far to young to be playing amongst the egos of all them galacticos ... sure at his age he needs a mentor among the likes of zidane and such but having to play with 7 massive egos might be a bad career move.. however if joaquin is whom we could replace him with id pray that we sell him in a heartbeat but with chelsea heavily linked with hi itl be unlikely hel come to old trafford
btw aston villa seem to be on the verge of signing bellamy. doug ellis claimed the deal had already been done but newcstle were quick to refure his claim ... still think hel be at villa park next season though ....
btw can some1 pls tell me more about this guy javier mascherano ... im reading a lot about him and how good a potential talent he is |

he's been linked in another deal to Porto! it'd be an exchange with Corinthians for Luis Fabiano, plus some money involved from MSI (this company who put loads of cash into Corinthians so they could buy Mascherano and Tevez) |

Mascherano is a defensive mid-fielder who currently is a dominating force in South America. He controls the mid-field and will be an instant starter in any team he goes to.
Ronaldo to Madrid? Where the hell did u hear that.
Emerson might be sold for the right price. Juve always sell for the right price.... also Juve has no money to buy players this season so they will be selling someone my bet will be Trezeguet. |

Ok, Mascherano isn't going to Porto, as Luis Fabiano has just been confirmed at Sevilla for next season .
I've heard about Ronaldo going to Madrid before, and apparently Luxemburgo (R. Madrid manager) said something today to the press that he thinks Ronaldo is "a great player". |

Ahmad Elrich to Fulham
watch out for this young Aussie. Grew up in the same area and actually really good friends with his younger brother, who plays in the state league here in NSW. Expect him to make a similar impact that Cahill made at Everton |
