80 is not that intense for most cars in the upper end of the 3rd gear ratio. It just depends on your transmission. But its time to switch to 4th I would not want to cruise in 3rd at 80 for sure!

I absolutely love driving stick. It's so much fun... awhile back (2001) my bad told me he was buying a car and I told him I didn't care what he got as long as it was stick, well he eventually bought a Ford Focus and it was stick, and funny enough neither him nor I new how to drive stick beforehand but I didn't care, I eventually learned in that car and it was so much fun. That car is gone now and all that's left is my mom's auto and i hate it. Definitely first car I buy is gonna be stick. Can't have it any other way.

Besides there is no set speed for each of the gears, if your a good enough driver you can push your car to the exact gear and a bit and it'll be fine, it all depends on listening to your engine. When i drove I never watch the tachometer, I just listened to the engine and knew when to shift.
bass drive
I can drive stick, but the car I dirve is auto

stick is mostly fun on the free way though. Not so fun in slow traffic..

thats really the only way to do it... you have to be able to feel what your engine can handle... different engines run at different optimal revolutions per minute for example the power band in my truck is 3600 RPMS to 4200 RPMS against my friends RX-7 with a rotary engine who's optimal power band is 4500 rpms to 5200 rpms
