Not going to comment too much on the music... it was Tiesto - never seen him before, so I figured I should at least once check out what all the hype is about. Pretty much exactly what I expected music-wise. As for the rest...

The sound was ing awful. Unless you were right in front of one of the main speaker stacks on the main floor, it wasn't nearly loud enough. And as others have mentioned, there was no midrange. I should not be able to talk to my wife without shouting, or hear random ambient noise from the crowd around me with a system like that in place. Why the didn't they turn it up? The place is ing huge - it would be an amazing venue if it was just louder at the back. Everything else about the place is great.

The crowd was brutal. I've never been pushed, bumped and shoved so much. The number of guys who just grab their girlfriend's wrist and shove past everyone, spilling people's drinks left right and center was ridiculous. Don't even get me started on the middle-aged coked-up asian women! Even when standing closer to the back, where there was room for a 5-foot radius around me, people still managed to bump into me every few seconds. One guy actually said sorry and I wanted to hug him because he was the only one all night! I saw Oakenfold at Space in Miami last year and it was just as crowded, but nobody was as rude or just plain stupid as last night.

The amount of idol worship witnessed last night was bloody disturbing. I was reminded of old footage of the beatles, except instead of screaming teenage girls, it was groups of 20-something year-old guys wearing all the latest designer fashions chanting "TI-ES-TO" randomly throughout the night. Come on people, he's a guy playing records. He's not a god. This is partly why electronic music has lost its way. Worship the music, not the man.

You said exactly what I was thinking :)

for those of you complaining about the sound quality....

...maybe if you didnt go clubbing/raving every weekend for the last 5+ yrs you'd have better hearing and would enjoy the music more>>>

(just had to say it ):p

^^^ unfortunately, that review quoted a few posts up is my main reason for not going...despite Tiesto probably dropping some seriously good trance.

maybe I'm getting old (nah), but I find myself less willing to tolerate that kind of environment these days. Marco V @ Guv should be much better in all of those regards (crowd, sound, space, non-worshippers, etc).

Pretty much what has been said is what I feel aswell.

really hot , mainly cause it was completely rammed!! way too many people. way too many cracked out asians. MOst people were friendly and said excuse/sorry. So that was alright. Some didnt, of course.

I too noticed the sound wasnt up to par. I thought it was a way better set then in dec. He really tore it up. He was really into it and having a great time, which makes it way better!

I was at the left side of the stage for the first bit, then moved outside . then hung around the right bar near the b ack of it for a good while. Then went outside one more time. however I wasnt outside for more then 20mins the entire night. Came back inside and decided to try and get in the front to snap some pics and enjoy the night that much more. by that time all the "ginos" and "that Dj guy is awesome" people had left. So it was easier to get up front.

That part pissed me and made me laugh. All the people who had NO F'N IDEA who he was.

He kept dropping track after track, never letting up. It was awesome.

I was having a huge blast, soaked completely through my shirt when Tiesto motioned to throw a record into the crowd. I got ready.

and ing SHAQ attacked everyone and caught the first record! People had no idea where it went. was quite funny. then he starts fiddling with another one so I handed the first record to my g/f and got ready again. i thought he was gonna toss it furthur or another direction but he didnt. I leaped and owned everyone again.

THATS RIGHT. I caught both records  :D .

My very first vinyls :eyespop: .

That was the 9th and 10th cherry on top of an AMAZING night!

:toothless

too bad he didnt toss his headphones .

GREAT NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
