Opinion of turning this forum into 2, Atlanta & Miami

Its become apparnt, even to a 3rd party like myself that there is an underlining tension between the ta's of atlanta, and miami. Swamper is also aware of this, there is a site suggestions thread and i was asked by someone to look into it aswel. Ive been around the last week or so and although i feel the difference of opinion is mainly based around the "mines bigger than yours" attitute - being miami being better than atlanta and vice versa, maybe the best solution for all is to divide the forums into two, instead of having to share and clashing all over the place.
If the change happened, Scott would mod the Atlanta forum and a new mod would be decided for the Miami section (who this would be yet isnt decided but thats not important at this stage).
I know there is a site suggestions thread but neither me or swamper are prepared to wade thro 9 pages of posts to get some stats. so whats the general view of this proposal?
this is a serious thread so do not fill it full of garbage, +1 and pics etc. |

I've never been able to figure out how any of this ever started. As a former FLTA translocated to Atlanta I feel as though I might offer some insight.
As someone who was there when the old space opened and a 4 year regular on the terrace, I still don't know any of the people who are most adamant about the forum seperation. For a board that is all about the music, I am surprised to have not met more ppl that supposedly love this music as much as me. Seriously, I been there with groups of 10 TA's (you know the old ones driven away by all this bull), wearing silly shirts and buying anyone I know a drink...
AND I STILL DON'T KNOW ANY OF THE WHINERS !
except for the people who we love, but their opinions don't matter because they're dicks: Damon, DA, ect... :stongue:
Scott is an awsome guy, who is way too nice to have to deal with this crap. So he tries to keep the board positive and rarely people get suspended. Some pople are just making trouble just for the fun of making trouble. FFS, why cant everyone just stop being nasty to everyone else? |

I am not old school... I am a baby. We all know that.
But i think the Fl and SE would be good if it were seperated... not to stop people from coming in. ATL ppl can be welcome to post in the FL section and vice versa, it's just You guys have a different scene and yeah it is in a 'boom' but we have our own scene too and it's just too much going on.
I pop into the west coast forums and other locations.. so the division isn't to stop people from posting in one section.
i;m just scared of who would Mod the FL section.. :nervous:

| lets all not get horny because if the forums split they'll be a vacancy for another moderator. the normal way mods are decided i dont think will work in this situation. i have an alternative idea that i'll suggest to swamper should the forums split. so lets not get all excited about modding and just stick to the real issues. |

I think this is a good idea, since a lot of the Atlanta crap leaves me like :wtf: and it's hard to participate in every thread.
and i go for 2 mods because that with damon wasn't cool... sounds like Scott banned him because he didn't know how we joke around with each other a lot in Miami, something you Atlanta guys don't do often. |

why not.. i mean if the forums to get split up.. it would be nice if we had a choice on who would moderate our (florida forums). if not what would be your idea of a mod selection??
besides i was the 2nd one to vote on this thread & if u saw when u first posted this thread it wasn't the last choice on the polls.
it was the first choice. |

the members will choose their mod, most likely. ive been nothing but impartial and fair since i got asked in on this so that wont change when it comes to selecting a moderator.
theres obviously lots of politics and groups going on within this whole situation to just asking members to self nominate themselves for modship, and then memebrs voting on that shortlist i dont feel would be the best way of selecting the most appropriate mod. |

anywayz, i vote to divide the forums, each having their own mods.
1) Im tired of hearing how great miami is, cuz yah it is.....but why mention it? Why compare miami to atlanta? No one in atlanta even remotely gives a rats ass about that stuff, cuz we KNOW their scene is better. To deny it is lying to yourself......but we have good people. People who won't bicker about how "amazing" our scene is.
2) I'm tired of hearing the old skoolers whine. Oh noezz!!1 TA has changed, TA isn't the same, TA has juvenile members, TA has gone to . Amazing....cry me a riverrrrrrr lol :haha:
3) I think an Atlanta forum isn't necessary, I think we should be known as SETA.....if miami wants to go on their own, kool. But what about the rest of the south east?:conf: I'd rather include them with us. I don't need an "Atlanta" forum, it's not about the name. It's about the people....and a hell of a lot of people from Nc, Sc, Tn, Mi, and so on definitely belong to be included. ;)
4) I'd like to have a sticky entitled: nchs09 and Mr. Pinks Drunk thread lol. It'd be swell. The Miami TA's could drop in and tell us how immature we are, and i'd laugh. Kinda like i do now....but even more cuz it'd be OUR forum :haha:
5) I think Atlanta has enough members, a great scene, and enough love between fellow SETA's to be an amazing forum. We don't need Florida, and they CLEARLY do not need us. So we might as well do what we do best.....Our own thing.

i love music.. i love TAs
split it into 2 forums i dont care.. although i like it the way it is b/c we do cross borders all the time to hang with each other..
but last i checked Atlanta has a scene and all of Florida has a scene..
Atlanta is appropriate b/c no other piss hole in Georgia plays anything resembling EDM.. where as many places in Florida have EDM..
none of this miami forum BS supposedly standing for all of Florida...
thats the only thing i care about..
