I guess it's just very inconsistent then...sometimes they're great, sometimes they're horrible...

I think what is also inconsistent is consumers reading the tarrif rules before agreeing to purchase...

Air Canada is not THAT superior to the other airlines such that they can justify their premium prices, IMO.

It's not that they choose to charge passengers such high prices, it's a direct derivative of the structure of the business. Air Canada is based on a hub-and-spoke model. This allows Air Canada to have more frequent flights, although this forces an increase in the amount of capital needed to sustain the business. Consequently, prices are higher, and vacancy rates on flights are higher, but flights are more frequent. Low-cost carriers like canjet and westjet use a point-to-point model, under which they only fly routes that are assured a certain threshold capacity, and hence the routes are always profitable yet they are not flown as frequently.

At least everyone made it out ok.

I went with air canada from toronto to frankfurt a week ago. Im sad to say that it might have been the worst airline i have gone with (including really cheap ones such as ryan air).

-Food was a lot worse than the usually crappy plane food
-Almost all the chairs in the whole plane were broken and very uncomfie (i read they were gonna change all of them in their whole fleet tho which is good i guess)
-Service was really bad, the flight attentends really didnt care about you at all. Really bad.

There were also several other people that had the same experience as me on the flight (and they said this was the general case with AC). So in the future im affraid i will avoid booking with AC.

Think their are a lot of foreign people on the flight cause flights from France are cheaper than flights from Amsterdam or from other big european cities. Lot of people take off from Paris. Some people have to change over to other flights which came from asian countries.

Heheh... I'm in Japan right now, and I left from Pearson the morning before the crash happened. I indeed did fly Air Canada... no problems at all. I'm just glad that I got out of there before the storm hit. Good to hear everyone is OK!
