This is very true. But let's be clear about how it got here;
Since the Rodney King, L.A. Riots, there isn't a police agency in America willing to shoot at black looters for liability reasons. The way the media spins things in this country is disgusting. Rodney King was high on PCP, was running from the cops at over 100mph, took swings at them when he was pulled over...and there was footage of him doing all of this...but the liberal media in L.A. chose specifically to air the end of the tape, where he's finally being subdued...f***er deserved a beating! I don't care what color you are, you act like that, you're endangering the public's safety !
Once the verdict to not prosecute the police came in, the police were thoroughly indoctrinated to do NOTHING about blacks breaking the law! The cops had just gone through a very expensive, very public trial...so once the rioting started, they stood back and did nothing...and I almost don't blame them! We asked for this bull with our pandering to low-lifes.
Flash forward now to Katrina. Same thing is going no now. "Don't shoot looters...they're black! We'll get sued!"...so the whole city suffers because of a great lie fostered long ago; That there is a BIG CONSPIRACY a-foot against black people in this country...a lie fostered by liberal leaders in order to divide and conquer and get votes.
And this other myth that many poor blacks "couldn't afford to leave the city"...bull! If they could walk to the Superdome, many of them could have walked out of the city! They had at least 24 hours notice! Refugees in WW2 walked across whole countries! Surely a few over-fed welfare recipiants could have done the same!
I saw one huge, fat-assed black women coming out of the water pushing a shopping cart of she'd likely looted, being interviewed by a reporter, saying that she had come "from the Projects" (that means free government housing), and so I ask you; How does someone who's "poor" and "suffering" get that ing fat!?!? That's OUR TAX DOLLARS in her rolls of fat!! Maybe if she'd taken the money she normally puts towards her twinki quota and socked it away for a rainy day, she could have "afforded" to get out of town!
A lot of blacks in this country are so indoctrinated, they have this entitlement attitude. "The governemnt owes them a free ride out of town; They deserve to loot because they are "oppressed"; Someone else solve my problems and pay my way...I deserve this because I'm black."
Just because a few black people claim they couldn't get out because they're "too poor" doesn't make it true for all of them left there...probably not even most of them, imho. |

LOL... very true, I agree with a lot of what you wrote.
Just one minor correction that many people are unaware of (it's NOT applicable in this case but just so you know in general): Starvation sometimes causes puffiness and weight gain, as weird as it sounds, because the body keeps depositing food due to lack of regular intake. It's an automatic survival mechanism. Whereas people who eat regularly keep their metabolism active and are skinny. |

| So after all the spewing when does the help get there again, when does the National Guard arrive, when does food and water for a devasted large American city get there. None of the carp, yes carp that is stated has any meaning to the people there, most of whom are not looters and gangbangers but sit there with no where to go, in the midst of the hooligans who think a TV will help them. That is the issue, screw entitlements and donnybrasco clue up man, its disgusting that you are equating the suffering of people and the actions of a minority into an entire race of people with a long sermon about blacks. There is a bigger picture and the looting and the punks perpetrating it are just part of the problem down there. Law and order is the easiest answer, if these individuals are given help and this b.s. continues then mouth off, otherwise you have some issues beyond The Big Easy. |

Just out of all stupid things in your post this probably takes the price. WTF?! Fat food are many times cheaper than healthy food, hence you would get fat of cheap food. So this would rather mean that these people are getting to litle money if anything. |

I didn't say all the blacks at the superdome were full of , but let's face it; A LOT of people chose to stay...you keep hearing that again and again.
And as for crime, of course it's these black gangs doing the shooting, but that doesn't lessen my point at all about why the cops won't shoot...in fact, it bolsters my argument against a LOT of the black community for defending this scum in normal times, for they are the ones who would be suing and crying "foul" right now if any of them were shot...it happens all the time here in all the major cities everyday! The cops shoot a gang member and the black community says he was an "innocent man, shot by racist cops".
And that a-hole Jesse Jackson would be right there leading any law-suit. In fact, I'll predict right now that he will, in short order, try to play the race card on this whole thing at some point, claiming it was all a grand conspircay to do nothing because these people were black. And, I wouldn't be surprised if he leads a law-suit at some point!
Don't act like you don't know this goes on NYCTransfan...it's people like you who turn a politically-correct eye that are contributing ot the problem, you're not solving it.
The sooner all blacks and whites are truly equal...and that means 100% accountability at all levels of life, without the race issue BEING an issue...the sooner this country will truly be better off and on the path to Martin Luther King's dream. |

There is no one entity to blame for what has happened, this is a natural disaster.
We could have done more to prevent the flooding, but there are plenty of projects across the US that must be approved or unapproved that *may* have similar consequences. Unfortunatly, the levees got pushed under the table, and it was the wrong choice. Money is not limitless, and in this case, the money went elsewhere.
The citizens of New Orleans the the South could have taken the warnings more seriously and gotten the heck out of there, and local officials could have done a better job evacuating the area. I realize that there are some poor individuals in the area, but it's hard for me to believe there is not some way they could have afforded at least a bus ticket out of there.
Finally, the actions of the "victims" of the storm, although I guess in some way justifiable is ridiculous. As said in the posted article, the victims of the tsunami never stooped to that level, and there is never a time where rape, murder and theft is ever acceptable.
In the end, it's time to stop trying to blame people, and just get something done. Would have's and should have's do nothing to fix the problem down there, it only increases anger and tension and makes the situation worse.
I hope we'll find a leader that can come forth and just get done, instead of the birage of blame that is currently afoot.

Carp, as in the sense of rotted fish used as chum for example. Trust me politically correct I am not, and you do realize that many of the cops in New Orleans are actually black right, just something to note, pretty corrupt as well in the past. I just didn't see your tangent as far as drawing parallels with the L.A. riots. That is why law and order is so important, instead of sitting around all day with no direction to turn to people need to know that the authorities are on top of things. We can all see what anarchy does. I agree with you wholeheartedly about accountabilty, that also includes the authorities to deal with these thugs who prey on their own fellow citizens in such a time, after all its not like the gangbangers will police themselves. |

IMO, having lived in 3 diff countries and after having been exposed to, and having a good understanding of both Eastern and Western culture, I'm pretty disappointed with the level of civility in pretty much all cultures. Everyone thinks they're better than the other group, the reality is that they're all pretty damn primitive and uncivilized, just in different ways. |
