z06 runs mid 12s stock @ 114ish. dont know what crack your smoking. The time you posted is decent for a base c5.
and if you want to bring up the cobra and magical gt this and that.... take a look at the new z06. It will eat anything ford can throw out. including the pos gt.

I had a first gen RX7 back in the 80's and if you turned off the ignition at speed and then pumped the gas pedal a few times then turned it back on , the thing would shoot a 10ft flame out the back
Not sure exactly why , but it was the only car I ever saw do this
would swap ends in the rain with only the slightest touch of the throttle , every repair seemed to cost $1000 BUT IT WAS A TRUE LOVE AFFAIR

Not exacly sure why either, but I know what you mean - if you remove the cat on an FC or FD (not sure about FB), it will shoot out flames everytime you downshift, with no other mods required. ing awesome if you ask me. |

techead, was your RX7 a carbureted 12A? If so, you were slightly flooding it every time you pumped that pedal with the ignition off, that's why it'd shoot flames out when you turned it back on :)
Even fuel injected 13B rotaries will flood if you run for a short amount of time, say, going around the block. They're set up to run very rich from the factory, to meet emissions requirements, which they barely did back then.
I want a 10AE FC myself. Mmm. |
