I remember a time when it was about going out and having fun, meeting people. Partying.

No it's about who's got the biggest dick.

Tiesto is coming to town, and you get 15 pages of arguing, telling how much he sucks, or how this DJ is better....

Same thing in tiesto's topic on my site.

No wonder why people are not smiling anymore.

bang on (i still like to bitch about tiesto though...its my weakness)
a good example would be friday at Preach.A few complained that the crowd
was small and sucked.Honestly I was too busy enjoying kick ass music and
dancing and acting nuts like a general fruit loop. The vibe is what you make of it...I was feeling the great vibes.I have to admit that I got a few strange looks when jumpin and screaming at the crowd to get in it, but fak it that is what happens when you are insane and deprived of banging techno for too long:tongue3

I thought for sure Friday's crowd would have been bigger for Preach.. but in all honesty.. I loved it.. tones of room to dance and I don't have to worry about anyone invading my personal bubble space :D

I understand and respect people who want to go to Tiesto. The firs thing you do when you start to listen to electronic music, is gettin in touch with some artist that you discover by the internet or friends passion. Tiesto or best djs around (Techno - house) the world are kind of music that people will listen first because they are well known instead of some djs less popular. And if you take a look of your first kind of music, it's well different than the style you listen now. My first touch to electronic music was Jeff Mills (Detroit Techno) with the track The Bells. Can you imagine?? lolll

When it's the first time you heard that Tiesto or your favorite kind djs is in the city, it's normal that you want to go see him even if you pay an expensive ticket.

Everyone in TA have a really great background of music, have 123242312323 chances to see Tiesto and choose if you like or not.

I hope that people at Circus for Tiesto have fun.

But the only thing I can say is ......

The November 25th @ Aria with King Louis - Kal - Nick Pilon
It will in ROCKKKKK!!! :D

dont have to be on edm nights to do that.

in fact... I barely met people (girls) in after-hours. and theres no alcohol.

these are my nights lately... drinking and flirting (having fun)

its just that the way people talk about edm on forums its more like selling products...

That actually isn't true at all.. Tiesto is in my top 10 dj's dude.. so I don't know where you are going with that one, but I advise you stop with that right there before you dig yourself a hole with "I think that people who's bashing on an artist, is not a real music fan"
Tiesto in Montreal compared to Toronto are 2 different stories.. the quality of his sets are a million times better in Toronto compared to Montreal which is the main reason I refuse to go see him in Montreal. I think he has more energy and excitement in TO as well.
As for the crowd Tully, I don't know which one is better.. it is Tiesto.. so it is overcrowded and uncomfortable in all places you see him play.. you just can't escape that!

I Understand your point...and i agree whit you. But my problem whit bashing is when somebody say: Tiesto sucks. But this person can't tell you why Tiesto sucks...You know, i understand that he probably make betters sets in Toronto...you explain your point of view and you bring some arguments to proof your point. When Bashing is free...i don't think people have respect for music. There's my point. I never says that Tiesto give always the best of him in Montreal, and i know that.

Peace

Well my dear Martin, People will start smilling again when music will be fun again, when music will stop being so serious. Nowadays, music has become way to intellectual and way serious, most importantly dj's have become more and more serious about themselves, they think that they are so important that they can stop giving the energy back to the people.

When was last time i smilled ?? Last saturday, Why ? because the music was good and although the vibe wasn't great and i was, for most of the night, all alone, i had the most fun i have had in years ! What this means ?? IT MEANS YOU HAVE TO BOOK IN DERRICK CARTER AND JASON HODGES AND YOUSEF IN YOUR NEXT PARTY

lol

well my theory is.. in a 6 hour set.. he is bound to play a ton of good tracks that you guys may want to hear.. I personally just prefer his longer sets over just the ones I have seen that were 2-3 hours in Montreal..

and I would never say he sucks either... I think In My Memory is one of the best trance albums out there ever.. but if I had to pick Tiesto old or new.. it would for sure not be his new stuff..
and I would not pay $95 to see him either..

but I hope you all who are going have a wicked time.. can't wait to hear all about it ;)

Don't agree. Music his WAY more fun today than it was in 2000-2001-2002, very progressive, serious and depressing moment. I remember just wanting to shoot myself in some big events because it was so boring. But people weren't cranky and so snoby on the web.

Something happened, people lost fun. Great partys out there and people just saying, yeah ok, but he's no Sven vath. Ah good booking, but where's Armin? What? only Lawler? That party is good, but this one will kick his ass... All about comparing dicks. This one is better, I know music more than you. you like trance, so you're an idiot... A lot of attitude on the web. A lot of people stopped caring, about others.

You say DJs are too big and serious, i don't think they changed that much. I think that today people only have eyes for them, and what was a crowd phenomenon, has become a DJ phenomenon. If you're saying to me, yeah your headliner is good, but bring Carter and I will be there... you are giving ALL credit yourself to the DJ. And forget that there's also the crowd, the place, and the will to party.

If somebody thinks tiesto sucks balls, and people are crazy to pay 95$, and you are staying home, why would you care? If people want it, and he is happy, just let it be. 95$ is too much, but if 2000 people have a good time that night, i'm happy for them.

I so agree whit you...it's always a question of what you like, how you like it, and how you gonna make it good!!
