That's exactly it: Armin always gives a showstopping performance. Tiesto on the otherhand was kickass at CEPSUM but really blew chunks at Bal en Blanc.
But then again, maybe it was just Bal en Blanc that blew chunks... |

| Tiesto's years are over for me, after ibiza i promissed myself to not go to another tiesto night. I went for the Armin Only party (7 hours) @ Amnesia and then Tiesto and Oakenfold two days after in the same club and to tell u all the truth, Armin was 10000 times better. There was perfect amount of people, the vibe was so much better and the party rocked. Armin for me!! |

I've seen Armin about 7 times now.. and I still can't get enough.. as much as I have been gearing away from trance, I just can't help myself with him...hahaha

True JFL, my last Saturday was probably over 3 months ago. I know a couple girls that went LAST week and I know people that have gone a few times over the past few months.... the story is that it's always empty. When I used to go, before your ladies night free it was getting weak as far as capacity. |

ok.. I have never really been a huge fan of Oakenfold.. well I haven't ever been a fan.. was he any good?
unfortunately he is going to be here this weekend with Cattaneo @ Guv and I am dreading the Oakie sound :nervous: |

no disrespect or anything to you Kendo.. but if the owner of the club didn't happen to be a TA.. would you go up to their face in person and tell them there club is getting weak??
and even if that is the case.. and the club isn't making the money it used to.. is that something you want to be mentioning?? I am sure if that was the case they are already feeling enough stress as it is and don't need the extra comments thrown in there.. :(
I don't know what is is about everyone bashing everyone else's clubs on these threads.. a club is a club.. people still enjoy to go to these clubs.. end of story! |

I said weak as far as capacity and that's the truth. I've always just spoken the truth as far as my perspective. I've given way more praise to Aria than negative feedback and my feedback is honest. I've been going to Aria since the day it opened and I know I've dropped more money at the club than most people.
Right after Circus opened Aria's resident night's numbers started to dwindle, even Aria staff (without naming people) would agree. I'm not saying that makes Circus better, even when the capacity in the main room dwindled I'd still go. No offence but most of the TAs here go on big nights, which Aria surely destroys, but they don't go week in week out on resident nights.
I think Louis and JFL know I have a profound appreciate and respect for Aria, this isn't meant as a diss towards it. |

I totally didn't mean for you to take that as I thought you were dissing them at all.. I figured there would be a story behind it and wouldn't do that.
When new clubs open though of course a club that is around longer is going to take a bit of a hit because there is now something new in the area.. different atmosphere, different crowd and it is a change from what you were used to doing and I understand that.
But as an owner.. it has got to be hard sometimes to read what other people have to say about your club since that is something you take pride in and of course it is going to happen but it would still be hard (for me if I were an owner anyhow) |

What you said about a new club is totally true, the novelty of Circus helps bring in more people... all of this stuff is detailed in my next Afterhour Review.. hehe.
I usually just play Devil's Advocate, when someone flames a club I try to bring up the reasons why the club is good. I see Circus being flamed unfairly here, I'd defend Aria just the same.
Personally I think Aria and Stereo bring more -substance- to the scene but the residents at Circus are mainly local DJs that finally have the chance to spin regularily at an afterhour venue. |

The only thing I don't understand is your statement about the number of people that are coming to Aria on saturdays!
Man, the club in rock on saturdays! There is a load of people every saturdays no matter what. Our last saturday was our worst one (the week-end right after labor day is always bad) since 3 months and it was still about 1200 people during the night.
Just come on saturday and you will see by yourself Kendo. I don't think you can make a jugement about our saturdays if you are not coming. There is no girls at Aria on saturday nights? There is more girls in the club than guys. It's about 55/45 ratio!
Come this saturday and you will see by yourself. Ask the staff yourself how it is on saturday nights since 3-4 months and no one will tell you it's empty.
As for our resident dj's, we have less locals dj's but they play more in a month at Aria than residents dj's are playing at Circus or Stereo. |

| I do agree with biggy that aria is getting back to previous days but still has a long way to go I guess its apersonal choice. People tell me they like circus cuz it looks nice it looks classy theres more hot people there, now it all depends on what you re looking for class or more unnderground like aria allthough i do agree arai needs some changes to look nicer. Personally i like both depends on my mood, THIS SAID BRING ARMIN... |
