Who was the promoter?

Cant say now. As far as I can remember he had a Persian background. I also spoke briefly with a Spanish decend guy. All were like "WHO?" No matter now. The end.

...And who said Mike played progressive? Get the styles straight. "Cold Harbour" is still trance with melodies most of the time. I barely heard any techno all night, I cant even remember hearing any. I was in and out until Mike arrived. And of course Progressive sound influenced many club styles of music. If it wasnt for progressive, the leap into fresh sound would not be made years ago. Right now, I am still waiting for something fresh, and something I would like. Heard all I needed to hear. And to those, who like melodies. To each is own. I like a good track, when I hear it. No matter what style. But a lot of melodies, and the timings, etc - were used up back in the 80s electronica. eg. LASERDANCE from Holland and all the likes. Minimum 5 melodies a song, 15 tracks on album. More than 10 albums, just them. INSANE! Not many could beat their sound back then. TECHNO then was just boring. Good techno started to come out in 1991 and up. Then electronic music really took off.

But hey, everyone has their opinions. I dont wish to start a debate, just my two cents.

HMMM... maybe you weren't in M.I.K.E.'s set for Nueva York(doesn't get much more techno that that) and the 2/3 songs after that, it was same genre (banging techno).

Or in the words of Mr.Furious "Get em before the hair does!!!"

Most of MIKE's set was all about bangin techno. Although i can see how an oldschooler might not think so. Since techno back in the day was quite a bit different than it is now.

Techno used to be minimal, think Detroit richie hawtin (who is actually from lasalle ontario) 1988-1995 styles.

Or hard bangin Rotterdam gabber styles...

But yeah most of mike's set was definately techno by today's standards.
