That says it all about my day.
Got a call from Aaron on wednesday wondering what I was doing on Friday. I said "working till i go see MIKE". He's like "Well BOOK IT OFF, we’re gonna pick up MIKE at the airport." Needless to say, I needed to change my diaper
So I booked off work, and headed to Gueplh/K/W (Since I cant seperate them in my head lol!). Picked up Aaron, grabbed a bite and headed to the terminal to pick up the man himself. I was thinking ‘what the HELL do you SAY to a GENIOUS like that!?’ We headed to Dannie’s van [I WAS DRIVING M.I.K.E. AROUND :eyes: :eyes: ] and headed to his hotel.
He was an awesome guy and there was no moment of silence as conversation topics ranged from gas prices, to his new baby boy to his new TT that he’s gonna get. And what a joker, he sneezed, so I passed him some tissues and he WIPED his HAND on my SHIRT as I was DRIVING! lol *shakes head*
There was elaborate schemes to have dinner, but Mike was a…lets say…very DECISIVE man. So he said no, no dinner. Aaron proceeds to cancel the reservations. We’re almost at the hotel when he says: “MEXIACAN. I want some Mexican, lets go eat. Do you know a place? Ok. Lets eat.”. Who was I to say no? All the while, stuck in traffic with Mike asking “Are we there yet!?”.
Lone Star it was. We sit down and the waitress comes by. Mike decides we should all have margaritas. But I cant get one before the waitress sees some id. As I pass it to her, Mike’s like “LET ME SEE THAT…1986!!! Do you still have your diapers on?” My hero just punked my ass lol.
We take mike back to his hotel and stop by Dannie at work to brag, with me going on like a little 5 year old showing the records I just got signed (see post above :rollseyes: ) almost yelling at the top of my lungs (as co-workers look on, giving strange looks). Aaron and I head to Tylers house with a quick stopover at mine with tyler txting “Whats taking you so long, drew has to change his diapers?” [the 2ND time this is mentioned]
Get to Tyler’s and he graciously gives us food and drink. [some of us with too much, eh Mr I-walk-into-closets-and-and-hit-my-head-cuz-i-think-its-the-bathroom! ;) ]
Get to viva, check out the situation, and at bout 1:15 pick up Mike from his hotel. Oddly enough, Im just as, if not more nervous than the last time about meeting him. We get to the club, hang out backstage for a bit, talk about other gigs that Mikes played, then we heads to the booth, and we head onto the dancefloor.
And as you all are well aware, we got our asses KICKED!!! Pound, Turn out the Lights, yimanya, roc project, just kick, :D:D:D I havnt danced that hard in many a night. And the closing track: UNIVERSAL NATION 2005 !! OMFGWTF!! Absolutely HUGE tune.
What an awesome guy, amazing producer and outstanding dj. I really saw tonight how a real pro works the crowd. At points when I was thinking I had to sit down, Mike ripped a track that had me moving as hard as ever!
Awesome night. Partying with my favorite people [although some were missing :( ] An outstanding night. Nima and Tiesto4Life holy it’s a small world eh? Lol. Gonna browse thru the pics now. :D |

Sasha's his real name, he listened to MIKE ever since he started producing day one hehe, so you can see why they probably talked so much, hes basically the #1 MIKE fan, i shoulda stayed in the end :(
we talked for like 1 hour in the back about music and , very knowledgable guy :D btw was he wearing a "Scanner" shirt? (otherwise im just emberacing myself?)

Thanks, buddy! You covered this pretty nice. I guess I caused quite a scene, though I dont look even close to SASHA. Don't forget, who got you hooked on Mike prods. Well, I guess I will tell you a little story. In the beginning of 2003, I went to see one of the promoters at the Guv, and he had no clue, who Mike was.He wanted Mike's press release, so I gave him Mike's website. Maybe, this contributed to Mike's arrival to Canada. I kept close contact with Stephan(Scannerboy) to try to get wheels in motion. You can thank me now. lol. haha. r.e.s.p.e.c.t. |

my most sincere appologies to MIKE though as i had Tim take a wrong turn going from Drew's place to the hotel to pick him up. By the time we got there he had already taken an airport limo to the airport...i know we agreed on 11am and we showed up around 11:20 - i hope if you are reading this MIKE you can forgive my error...:( :( :( |

sounds like everyone had so much fun!
Well as i mentioned in the 1st posts i was there too ,arrived there around 1:50 and was loving M.I.K.E's set that i had one of the craziest parties of the year .
It was my seccond time at viva and i think the sound system was much better than lasttime.
I had to take off at around 6:15 cause my freinds were living ,but wanted to stay till the end.. i was so much loving it! :(
Anyways ,too bad i don't know any of you guys , for sure i met some of you but I just don't know who is who :P
and i was too much busy dancing at the dancefloor that i didn't even know about the sasha thing. lol
overall rating for the event would be 8/10 |
