. It's already hit Level 5 and "forecasters said a key reading of the storm's pressure showed it to be the most powerful of the year."

it didn't just beark the record... oh no... IT SHATTERED IT
2005 has been a very ed up year let me tell you...

Ahahahah! Yet ANOTHER one, eh? I can imagine it must start feeling somewhat repetive by now. :stongue:

The name "Wilma" really puts salt on the wounds too.

EDIT: Stop polluting and the hurricanes probably stop.

I don't think there is anything funny about this
you probably don't care since you live in the finland anyway where the only danger is slipping on a patch of ice during the summer

Well, it causes global warming, which I suppose can cause hurricanes. Of course I could be totally wrong.

there's not enough data for anyone to be sure of that theory.
we just don't have enough history to make any meaningful statements about global warming and increased frequency of storms.

Don't let the facts get in the way of your irrational emotion:

Cat3 (or larger) storms that made landfall in October:
4th Quarter of 1800s = 6 (1873, 77, 86, 93, 94, 98)
1st Quarter of 1900s = 3 (1906, 1909, 1921)
2nd Quarter of 1900s = 2 (1944, 1950)
3rd Quarter of 1900s = 2 (1954, 1964)
4th Quarter of 1900s = 1 (1995)
1st Quarter of 2000s = 0 (so far)

Had the environmental blowhards been accurate, the industrial revolution would show the numbers going in the OPPOSITE direction.

Get real.

Anyway, the pressure just fell to 882 millibars...

this is more natural than global warming induced...
