How exactly does pressure come into play? I am guessing that its because air will flow into a low pressure system to try and equalize the pressure. I swear, I hate Florida just because of the hurricanes. If this gets the Tiesto concert cancelled for some reason, someone will have hell to pay.... |

Well i'm not much of an expert, but hurricanes start out as low pressure systems collecting moisture over ocean water
moisture is what feeds them, its what allows them to live
more specifically, warm moisture
the more moisture they gather, the pressure falls, and they start to become a one big sucking machine
the size depends on the weather conditions around it
if there is nothing blocking it, and there is a sufficient feed of warm water, they can grow to be immense
typhoon tip which formed in eastern pacific grew to be more than 1000 miles across
thats large enough to cover 1/3 of US...
as soon as they hit land, they start dying |
