Australia vs Uruguay (pg. 3)

cahill is knackered at the moment, and isn't having the impact in games for everton he was having last season. class player though, and far more useful than that kewell pansy.

would love to see australia go through, and i rarely support australia in anything. i don't think uruguay are that strong a side (and they weren't 4 years ago either) but that atmosphere is a killer. the players will be more prepared for it this time, less intimidated and more determined, and i think are more than capable of getting a result from the first leg. hopefully then they can hold their nerve on the return leg and finish them off.

ill be up early cheering them on, but like pkc come world cup time its all england :)

Emertons too flat footed.. he was 'ok' some time ago but not now i dont think .. Kewell and Bresciano are our main men

Nice argument... that goes for every player that has put the shirt on for the last 31 years...The fact of the matter is they are our best credentialled and best players at league level... like it or not... and its who australia will rely on.

Then EPL is not the be all and end all of football... There are other quality leagues out there.

kick off is at 7.00am coverage starts at 6.30am, which is not that bad generally they play soccer matches at some ungodly hour of the morning. i am in complete agreement regarding Johnny Warren was an absolute champion of australian soccer, stuck by it through thick and thin and was always trying to promote the game. they boys will do it for him.

GO AUSSIES!!!!

Australia has midfielders Tim Cahill, Brett Emerton, Marco Bresciano and Vince Grella; defender Lucas Neill; striker John Aloisi and goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac on yellow cards from their matches against the Solomon Islands, meaning another caution in their first leg against Uruguay will rule them out of the return encounter.

man this can stuff us up in the return leg... we need a good score in first leg and no yellow cards! ( haha thats going to be hard, sif Uruguay isnt going to provoke them )
