Had a great time! His set went up and down in terms of styles. Was interesting how he mixed the tracks. Like halfway into each track, he would mix out. |
What u mean by mixing out ? Dont tell me he pulled an Erick Morillo by bringing the track in, lower volume until almost silence, and then bring it up again. If he did that, I would have thrown my water bottle at him. LOL. |

| PVD definitely picked it up towards the end but by that time he'd lost me. I wasn't feeling him last night. The sweltering heat could have also had something to do with it. |

Nah, like usually tracks have a halfway point. So it seems like the track is gonna end but its really halfway through. He just seemed to mix it at that point. In other words, he didnt stay too long with some of the tracks. Tune after tune in quick succession :p |

One more thing.
The sound in Roxy was great. Crobar sometimes gets too loud and has this kssshhhhhhhh background noise. I haven't been to Sprit in a while so I can't compare.
I can tell because
1. at Crobar, if you put in ear plugs and tried to take them out you realize how loud it is and you put them right back in. Did not happen at Roxy.
2. I am not deaf today.
A good sound system like that allows you to experience the subtleties of trance music and the DJ's skill. |

Copy/pasted from TOTA forum:
Whoa 6pm and I am still fuzzy-headed :)
Here is my review:
Line up was really confusing (they had lines across the streets, weird signs, etc) but we got in pretty fast...coat check took like 2 seconds, so that was a huge plus. They let us bring out cameras in, which was AWESOME!!! Pics coming soon...and I know Laura got some great one's!!
(but they did try to confiscate everyone's gum...I guess the place is a roller-rink in the day and it screws up the floors??) Not a jaw-friendly place :) lol
The crowd to me was great: there were a ton of people, but enough room to dance the entire night, not very many people pushing through you, and really friendly people! NYTA's took OVER PVD last night and I met quite a few of you guys!! Really nice people, and I appreciate the many welcomes and invites to future events ;) really cool ass people :) :)
It also, to me wasn't very hot, but it was soooo humid...the place just felt WET!!! everyone around me was sweating buckets even tho the temperature seemed ok to me most of the night. I must apologize to any who met me after, like 12 am, cuz we danced our asses off and I prolly looked a hot mess LOL LOL :) :) :) LOL
I do not need to mention the track list. :) :) INSANE!!!!!!!:eyes: :eyes: We danced sooo hard the entire night, I had to PRY myself off the floor just to go use the restroom, get a drink, it was that great!!!I was afraid to miss anything!! Never took a break the whole night!! LOL
Nada: towards the end of the night, PVD was playing a bit slower, and I told Shanny and Lisa that the next hard track that he plays we need to BUST OUT Nada-style :) :) wouldn't you know it, the next hard track, me and lisa just looked at each other and went all out :) we laughed and said how you woulda loved to be there busting out with us!! LOL LOL YOu would have loved it chick!!! :) :) wish you were there with us!!
Since you all know already the insanity of the tracklist, I will end my report by saying that I had a fabulous time with the TOTAs that came down and I met a whole TON of NYTA's who I love and can't wait to chill with again. I remember faces, not names, so please don't worry if I forget you:
Dirtydan
verndogs
phuzzyfish12 (and her friends)
kellybelly :) :)
Josh
lisa
Laura
Andrea
Chris
FRAN!! :) :)
Trancedout and his toronto peoples
...a whole bunch of NYTA's....I am soo sorry I forgot (or didn't HEAR!!!) your names!!! but you know who you are :)
(one NYTA was there with his girl...was SUPER nice and invited me to furture events but I coudn't hear your name for the life of me) :(
Daniela (Lunasea): wish you were there babe!!! yo woulda made the place that much better!!
Thats my report....no more rambling...love to the TOTA's/NYTA's....soo glad I live in NYC now :) :)
To the fab DJ: Thanks for popping the PVD cherry in such an incredible way...you kicked our asses!!!!
:) :)

had it hidden in a small inside pocket in my jacket. I got patted down pretty good but security missed that part :toocool:
apparently it was easy to bring cameras inside. |

was just talking to vernon now...
1 - hearing how pvd has incorporated some house/prog house in some of his einslive rocker sets, and in last night of course...
2 - seeing paul van dyk and sasha september last year during the free bpm grammy event
vernon said bring a pvd/sasha tag team together... (which is what i really wanted to see last year)
i can actually see that working. |
