ok, i think i'm understanding now.
I'm guessing Rose died in the car accident. She's in a purgatory/alternate reality and that's why her husband seems to "feel" her in the school and at the end. Maybe she died when she was stabbed, but I think that throws everything else off.
i thought the janitor scene was awesome. When she opened the bathroom door and the camera just shows flashes of parts of his body wrapped in barbed wire. When the dark world came and he was screaming, wow. totally immersive.
Was there any reason she grabbed the motel plate from his mouth? Was it just homage to investigating absolutely everything in the video games? |

SPOILERS
To me the end was just a way to go into a second movie. I dont think she died in the accident at all. Her husband and her were in different realities at that moment(her being in the Alessa/Reaper Hell that comes and goes and him being in the real world. At the end I think that the reaper/evil spirit joined with Sharon(the whole eye thing with them looking at each other) and left Silent Hill but when they got back they were still in that alternate hell reality because the evil spirit was there with Rose and Sharon thus is why the husband and them didnt see each other(the lighting made it seem that way too). |

| from what i've understood, the studio is all heads up for a sequel headed once again by Gans. Gans said if it happens, it will be a brand new fresh story unrelated to the first movie. |

| k just got back from seeing this movie. having never played the game, this is my opinion: IT SUCKED!!! grr...ok effects, ty acting, yet another video game turned movie film. meh. having to wait thru almost the entire movie to learn about the background (the "truth") was really annoying. they should have done a better job informing the unfamiliar viewer of the plot in the beginning. |

caela:
ya that whole "truth" execution was cheesy. it was something like "you have passed the test. you win. for winning, u get the truth." poorly executed |

| really!!! surprising... my friend is going to check it out at the theatre this weekend. I might go see it myself depending on what he says. all the other video game/movies have been piss poor as far as i am concerned. i hope FF 7 is good though. |

EHHRNNNNNNNT guess again.
decent movie. good by cinematic-adaptation-of-video-game standards. but i'd hardly deem it classic.
the end was cool though, with all the barbed wire flying everywhere. |

| I thought the acting was really bad in a lot of parts, especially toward the end. The beginning 45 minutes was awesome, the graphics were bad-ass. But towards the end, it seemed like a confusing episode of something low-budget late night on the sci-fi channel. And a lot of really stupid one-liners that got everyone in the audience laughing. I gave it a chance. I really did. But it was a bunch of great graphics with lame twists. I guess I should have played the video game to answer these questions: why was there a guy in a triangle mask killing people with a giant knife? What the hell were the burning things and why did they look like they came from the game "Halo"? Is this an American remake of a Japanese film? ...because I saw the same damn girl in the film that looks like the one from "dark water" and "the ring". |

i liked it. its not a jump at u cheap scary movie like all the rest, its just got his dark atmosphere to it. if u played the games u'll love it. after a while you start to dread that fukin air horn lol. yea it got slow sometimes but some of the parts are just fuked that ur like whoa... did they actually just do that?
even if you havent played the games u have to admit that this movie stands out compared to all those stupid generic "horror" movies that hav ebeen comin out that have jumpin at u with no plot at all. this is gonna be a love or hate movie. for most gamers ur gonna love it and for ppl who like to think when they watch a movie and not have some CGI'd thing jump at u |
