seriously nat, a one year focus will cost you peanuts and will not cost you alot to maintain compared to japanese and european.
plus its a roomier and more powerful car than the rest. |

Pricey the entire time you own it, 'cause everything will break all the time. Volkswagen makes trash. |
my mom has had her TDIbeatle since 2000 and the most major repairs include a new power window switch and an antena. |

There were only 1k or so of the '02 blue SVTs made. It's a collector.
My '02 red only had 3k built.
Once the fusion SVT comes out I'm selling and moving into that. |

I've decided its gotta be Japanese this time |
WELL since most people missed that .. i decided to post:) hehe
New civic.. very well built car. new series engine now.. which is same series as the 03 si hatchbacks.. as well as acura rsx's.. Very well built motor. takes a beating well . handles great considering the price.. good safety ratings.. good fuel economy. 4 and 2 door models .. navigation optional. . i can keep going :D hehe no really though thats what i would do.. or look into an 02-03 rsx. also bery well built cars man!
VW = good ... but many electrical problems. buddy had a jetta and my dad has a touareg which spends quite a bit of time in the shop.
Subaru = also very good but pricey.. i was looking at the imreza base model and with taxes it come to just under 30 000 so yea:S ..
Toyota = i own one.. theyre very well built cars but they tend to be really stingy on standart features and pricey for upgrades.. so yea:)
ill stop now im getting too into this:) |

| Thanks for all the good advice everyone. There seems to be a consensus, which is a good thing to steer me in the right direction. |

My 2 cents would be.....
Hyundai Santa Fe
If you can get one in Canada. They are cheap. You can get a nicely loaded on for 17K US. They are all wheel drive - great in snow. 10 year warranty, and from what I've heard they are very reliable.

I am not getting an SUV. Period.
Same for a hatchback, stationwagon, or minivan- I need a sealed trunk. |
