Tech Support/Backend Support/Odd Jobs at Rogers Telecom (that's what those of us who were formerly "Sprint Canada" before the acquisition are called now)
My department handles our VOIP service and also supports home phone service and the upcoming ADSL (yep Rogers is gonna have ADSL as well as Cable Internet at some point in time this year - although a lotta will change internally due to integration of processes...
it's not so bad - it's kinda nice having the power to screw with peoples' essential services  ...er, I mean assist with, not screw with of course |

| I'm a senior web developer for a publishing company. I don't do graphics, mostly web applications and database stuff. I recently took on some project coordinator responsibilities as well. Suffice to say that work is pretty hectic now but I love it. I can't see myself doing anything else. |

I'm a computer ANALyst maintaining a ty ass (worst ever seen) application completely done in Oracle. I was told I wouldn't be doing that when I took this position, they broke so many of their promises its not even funny... so now I'm looking for something else. I do everything possible not to deliver on time... everything :)
On weekend, i get hired to take pictures of parties around town. I love it, but it doesn't pay the bills.
I also maintain edmm.ca, which is more of a hobby than anything else. |

I'm in university... but right now taking 4 months to work at a place called Maplesoft. They're essentially the world leader in software used for mathematical research... it does stuff like solving equations, doing Matrix transformations... pretty much any mathematical algorithm that exists is somewhere in Maple.
Currently I'm working in the Math Group on a package that handles algebraic computations, with some brand new algorithms developed by a team at a university. It's very technical, but a lot of fun; the people working there are very intelligent and really nice, most of whom have PHDs in Mathematics. It pays pretty well too, for a co-op job. Plus, it's a pretty small company (I think <200 employees and not publicly traded) that was started by a few people from the University of Waterloo.
But yeah. Great job. Very challenging and a ton of fun. Love every minute of it. Got free Fritters today too.
