The way I see it, protests are directed at those who sponsored such publications or were highly interested in them. |
So according to you, the government of Denmark as well as Danish businesses either sponsored such publications or were "highly interested in them", since clearly, burning down foreign embassies and boycotting businesses are forms of protest.
Firstly, there is no evidence whatsoever that points in that direction. Thus, as far as I'm concerned, protests directed towards those two entities are clearly in the wrong, unless these people, or perhaps yourself, know something that the rest of the world doesn't.
Secondly, and from a common sensical perspective, it makes no sense whatsoever for a government, especially one like Denmark that has a sparkling reputation when it comes to religious tolerance, to support or sponsor something so inflammatory. Furthermore, with regards to businesses, it makes even less sense for anyone interested in making money to risk alienating huge markets such as the Middle East or Islamic markets.
So, with all due respect, I still don't see your point nor can I agree with what you stated.
Note, of course, that this is not to downplay the fact that there were peaceful protests directed at the newspapers solely, which is perfectly legitimate in my book. |

I do agree that it’s hard to argue without evidence. But then again, it is what I think; I hope I am wrong and it is just an unintelligent mistake on the part of those newspapers. |

I don't think that Denmark is interested and I didn't mention that before either. (Mentioning that will imply that Denmark’s gov is very stupid) Those who are interested in such things are waging a war already, they need support; they cannot handle it alone. |

OUTFOXED
Outfoxed examines how media empires, led by Rupert Murdoch's Fox News, have been running a "race to the bottom" in television news. This film provides an in-depth look at Fox News and the dangers of ever-enlarging corporations taking control of the public's right to know.
The first minute of this video is in Dutch - The remainder is in English.

Glad I can provide some entertainment in this otherwise boring thread.
It is fun to watch Epi try to save the world, though. |

No Holocaust Cartoons in Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten
From Carsten Juste - Editor-in-Chief exercising overall content responsibility under Danish media laws
Dear Readers
Please allow me to begin with the conclusion: Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten will not publish any Iranian Holocaust cartoons, and it will not establish or seek to establish co-operation with any Iranian newspaper on such cartoons.
http://www.jp.dk/udland/artikel:aid=3548990:fid=11328/
Why would Carsten Juste apologize for something his paper won't even print?(Holocaust cartoons)
note this:
.." I regret that there has been this temporary confusion as to the ethical standards of Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten. Hopefully, with this letter I will have dispelled any doubts about this matter.
he definitely has a weird notion of ethics ... |
