Lolo
Hello people,

I'm sorry I cannot speak or write any german, but I will try to explain what happened.

1)First of all, we got no roadbook at all, and we knew by experience the venue would be hard to find for us. Even with a map, and a printed description we couldn't find the road.

2)Finally we find the hotel, but still not the club. After a 5 hours drive under rain, snow, etc... you can imagine we were extremely stressed.

3) We come to the club, trying to install my hardware, which takes about 5 minutes. First of all no electrical plug and no space for my keyboard or my controller IN FRONT of the dancefloor. AFAIK I sent a technical rider 2 months ago, and it makes a lot more sense to place the artist's hardware in front, still they could have told me that.

4) The resident dj is kind, but I have the feeling he doesn't know the club's mixer, as he should have known their ch1 line input was DEFECTIVE and NOT MY CABLE. He claims both cables of mine to be defective, rare when you know I DOUBLECHECK every single cable before every weekend like this.

5) tech problems of course, he takes over for a few mins, so you get me trying to change cables although I know it's not the problem. We finally find out and I can finally play.

6) I'm now playing live keys and getting into some audioloops, trying to forget all of that, playing for 10 mins, and some guy with an orange shirt keeps bugging me while I am playing keys live. He keeps speaking in German, and all the blah blah, which I don't understand. First time was ok, second time I had to make it clear, that's why I shouted at him. "Can't you see no one is dancing?" is what I probably could understand from his words while I was playing for only 5 minutes and after technical problems I'm not responsible of.

7) While this guy kept bugging me without knowing it, my wife and my label partner got sent out of the dj booth, which I took as an offence. They're both incredibly important people as my wife is my official photgrapher, and my labelpartner is also my manager.

8) Finally after 15 minutes Lolo the resident dj tells me the manager wanted me to stop, well I did, but I also took it as an offence and got really mad.

Why? because you don't drive for 6 hours from Brussels under rain, snow, you don't get lost on the way, you don't stress that much in order to get jilted from the dj booth by some manager after 15 minutes playing, pretending you don't match the sound of the club, specially when you get info, cd's, playlists etc... MONTHS IN ADVANCE!!

And Yves got exactly the same problem as I had. SO.... I concluded it is time to move on, I won't argue about this or that. I'm a clean guy, I don't drink, don't do drugs at all, I'm just extremely shocked by the club personnel's attitude in general. But I won't blame them. If I hurt anyone personally, well sorry about this, but lemme tell you it's extremely hard to peform well and be kind with everyone in these conditions. I wish I didn't come friday, because it's been a waste of time for all the people coming for yves and fo me as well, and that is my deepest regret, also my justified behaviour could have been taken as extremely negative by those people who still don't know what happened.

I won't tell about this on any other forum or post negative news on my website, because it won't change anything, I'm a positive guy, and I just want to keep things that way. I just wanted to explain my point of view, and it's nothing official.

Kind regards,
Laurent aka Airwave

thank you for the statement laurent, i'd have felt the same,
hope you'll come to germany again, there are other clubs with a better athmosphere and better personal (e.g. techno club :))
Lolo
and I will come with great pleasure, believe me. Let's just forget about this party and stay positive!!
