if going out and getting drunk and meeting chicks while dancing to a mediocre DJ set is your thing, then i respect that. just don't assume that because we have higher standards that we're a bunch of elitist pricks who are trying to "make themselves feel better in sounding like they know what they are talking about"

haha calm down brutha

i honestly dont care what all of you do with your free time and how you spend it in the clubs and what not. to each his/her own. Im killin time here. Ive been at work all morning with nothing to do, which is basically every day here. Forums are a great time killer for me so a lot of whats going on is rambling. I know everyone here has a great passion for the music or you wouldnt be here. I respect that. If you meet me in real life you might find me a different person. This is a great place to just chat it up and for all of us to get a bit carried away at times. And thats the honest truth.

haha, class

i actually agree more with doombot's side of the argument, to an extent. shame he's absolutely incapable of arguing it and ended up looking a bit of a twat (no offence)

but a recent example of a godawful set (from an objective point of view) i saw was from alex morph a few weeks back, the guy's mixing is substandard & his set consisted of pretty much only his own productions, in seemingly random order. nonetheless, i enjoy his music, and was able to enjoy the set as a result, ropey as it was

though it's just tastes really, like having different tastes in music. some people love to hear awesome technical skill, some people just love to hear good tunes. and i don't doubt that both can have as much fun as eachother

though none of this has anything to do with andy moor, really no idea how it got here :p

I dont think anyone will argue that its not just the mixing/trackselection that will make or break a night, but to say its un-important is daft.

Of course I've had fun getting piss drunk jumping up and down to certain trance DJs I dont even like much (Think KvA), but when it gets down to business, when I want to hear a serious set of good music, I have strong preferences as to who/what/where...as I'd expect any huge fan too.
